A Maserati shows 6 oil signs: 2 warning lights, a sensor fault, an oil level code, a level above MAX and dark oil. Each sign leads back to the level, a fault or the oil itself. We find the cause behind every sign, then put it right.
On a 2024 Ghibli, this warning light and its message mean the engine oil level is low. We top up with the grade listed for the engine. Then any leak is found with tracing powder on a clean engine warmed above 85 °C, and we seal it.
On a 2024 Ghibli, this light staying on while driving means the oil pressure is too low. Maserati's instruction is to turn the engine off at once and leave the car until the problem is solved. We confirm the level, then trace the pressure loss and repair its cause.
On the 2024 Ghibli 2.0 litre MHEV, this light signals a failure of the sensor that detects the oil level. We test the sensor, its plug and its wiring. A failed sensor is replaced, and a wiring fault is repaired.
On a Grecale MHEV, Grecale Trofeo, GranTurismo or GranCabrio, these codes read Engine Oil Level Too High and Engine Oil Level Too Low. They can stay stored with the right amount of oil in the sump. Maserati's fix is an oil level initialisation with the oil at 90 °C. We read the code and refer the car to a Maserati dealer for the routine.
On a Ghibli, Grecale or GranTurismo, overfilling or underfilling the sump causes aeration or a loss of oil pressure. We drain oil out until the reading returns to the SAFE range.
Oil can darken soon after a change, so its colour alone says little about its condition. We go by the km, the date and the level instead.

Maserati engine oil wears out in Dubai from 6 causes: dust, heat, short trips, soot, turbo lubrication and mixed top-ups. Each cause contaminates the oil, dilutes it or consumes it. For the Ghibli, Maserati counts dusty areas and short trips among the severe conditions that can call for earlier maintenance.
Dubai International Airport averages 17.7 days of rising sand annually. Its mean daily high runs from 40.3 °C to 41.9 °C between June and August. That dust and heat match Maserati's severe conditions for the Ghibli, so we bring the next oil change forward.

Oil to API SP protects against low-speed pre-ignition and timing chain wear. It also limits deposits on pistons and turbochargers.
ACEA C oils are made to work with catalysts and petrol or diesel particulate filters. They lengthen the life of both.

The return-stop valve in a new filter keeps the filter and oil channels from draining when the engine stops. Oil is ready to flow the moment it starts.
A clogged filter opens its bypass valve and sends unfiltered oil round the engine. A fresh filter at each change keeps the oil passing through the element.
The drain plug stays tight because its sealing ring is new at each change. On a plug with a fixed ring, the whole plug is replaced.
A Maserati needs the SAE grade and the API or ACEA class that Maserati lists for its engine on UAE cars. On a 2024 Ghibli, the 3.8 litre V8 takes 8.3 litres of SAE 5W-40 to API SN/SP. The 3.0 litre V6 AWD takes SAE 10W-60 to API SN/CF.
The 2024 Ghibli 2.0 litre MHEV takes 5.0 litres of SAE 0W-30 to API SN and ACEA C2. A 2024 Levante V6 holds 8.3 litres of SAE 10W-60 to API SN/CF and ACEA A3, B3, B4. The Levante MHEV takes 5.0 litres of SAE 0W-30.
A 2025 Grecale Trofeo holds 6.5 litres of SAE 5W-40 to ACEA C3. The 2025 Grecale 2.0 litre MHEV takes 5 litres of SAE 0W-30 to ACEA C2.
The 2025 MC20 holds 7 litres and the 2025 GranTurismo 7.5 litres, both SAE 5W-40 to ACEA C3. We identify the engine fitted and fill to its listing.
A Maserati gets its oil change at the service interval Maserati sets for its engine on UAE cars. On a 2024 Ghibli V8 or V6, the engine oil and filter are replaced at each service, every 20,000 km or 12 months. The 2024 Ghibli MHEV never goes past 15,000 km or 12 months between oil changes.
The 2024 Quattroporte runs 20,000 km or 12 months between services, and the 2024 Levante V8 and V6 run 20,000 km. A 2024 Levante MHEV, a 2025 Grecale Trofeo or MHEV, a 2025 MC20 and a 2025 GranTurismo run 15,000 km or 12 months.

The job runs in this order on every Maserati engine we service.
Sand and dust stay out of the engine when the drain plug, filler cap and dipstick are cleaned before opening. We clean all 3 first.
The old oil drains out of the sump. Maserati calls for a new oil filter at every oil change, and we fit one each time.
First, fresh oil fills to the minimum mark. The engine then runs until oil pressure builds, and 0.1 litre steps take the level up to the top of the range.
On a Grecale or GranTurismo, the display reading is the reference, and Maserati keeps the dipstick check for its own Service Network. An MC20 reads on its dipstick after a warm-up above 80 °C at about 2,000 to 3,000 rpm, one minute at idle and a switch-off.
With the engine idling, the drain plug and the filter are checked for leaks. Extreme heat can dry out rubber seals, so this check follows every change.
Once the level reads right, we reset the service reminder so it counts from this change.

The price of a Maserati oil change in Dubai turns on 4 factors: oil quantity, grade and class, the filter, and any fault we find. Quantity follows the engine, from the four-cylinder MHEV up to the V8. A fault on record adds its diagnosis and repair to the bill.

The 2024 Ghibli comes as a V8, a V6 AWD and a four-cylinder hybrid, each with its own grade. A 2021 Ghibli V6 holds 7.3 litres of SAE 10W-60. We read the engine and the model before the oil is chosen.
On the Grecale, GranTurismo and MC20, Maserati warns that supplemental additives can impair the oil. We add nothing to the engine beyond the listed oil.
The 2024 Ghibli GT and Levante GT are hybrids with a 1,995 cc four-cylinder, and the Grecale MHEV runs a 48 V lithium-ion battery. We change the oil and filter on these engines with the same steps as on a V6 or V8.
A Maserati that loses oil between changes is filled to MAX and driven 1,000 km with its fuel use logged. Topping it back up to MAX then gives the consumption per 1,000 km, and we repair the cause behind it.
On a 2024 Ghibli MHEV, Maserati calls for new oil and filter once the oil degradation ratio passes 80 per cent. We read that ratio with a diagnostic tool and change oil past the limit.

The 2024 Ghibli 2.0 litre MHEV has no dipstick. Its sensor reading sits on the TFT display, under Vehicle Info and then Engine Oil.
Read the dipstick before starting a car that has stood overnight, parked on level ground. The level belongs between the MIN and MAX marks of the SAFE range.
From the minimum mark, Maserati lists 1.4 litres of top-up for a Ghibli V8 and 1 litre for a Ghibli V6. On a Grecale Trofeo, 1 litre takes the level from the bottom to the top of the SAFE range. A GranTurismo takes 1.5 litres for the same rise.

No. The Grecale Folgore is electric, with a 400 V, 105 kWh battery and a one-speed transmission, so it has no engine oil. The GranTurismo Folgore is electric too. We change engine oil on the petrol and mild hybrid models.
