Tyres due for a change show 6 signs: 4 on the tyre and 2 on the road. On the tyre, look for tread level with the wear bars, a sidewall bubble, sidewall cracks and wear on both edges or the centre. On the road, a pressure warning appears or the steering shakes, and we fix each sign we find.
The tread grooves hold raised ribs 1.6 mm high, the tread wear indicators, and tread flush with them marks a tyre due for a change. The RTA counts tread below 1.5 mm on a light vehicle as a defect. We replace tyres worn down to the indicators.
A kerb or pothole strike can raise a bubble on the sidewall, and the bubble means the carcass ply behind the rubber has been punctured. That damage carries a risk of sudden pressure loss, and the tyre is not repairable. We replace any tyre with a sidewall bubble.
Sidewall cracks come from ageing and from exposure to sun and ozone. They warn that the tyre is nearing the end of its life. We replace a tyre whose sidewall has cracked.
Tread worn on both edges, so the tyre looks rounded and not flat, can indicate under-inflation. Wear down the centre strip can indicate over-inflation. We replace tyres worn this far.
A direct monitor reads a sensor in the tyre or valve, and an indirect one calculates pressure from wheel rotation speed. A tyre that goes soft with no visible damage can have an aged valve, whose rubber loses its seal with time. We renew the valve, or repair the tread puncture when we find one.
On the Sorento, Kia links a steering wheel that shakes, or a car that vibrates while driving, to a tyre out of balance. A kerb strike can also damage the rim. We inspect the rim, then rebalance the wheel.

Tyre damage and early wear in Dubai have 6 causes. Heat sits behind the first 3, because heat ages rubber and turns low pressure or high speed into a failure risk. Impacts, wheel geometry and driving style complete the list.
The hottest day in the 1991 to 2020 record at Dubai International Airport came in August, with 48.8 °C. A UAE study measured uncoated pavement at 60 °C in summer, and that surface is where the tread runs. In Saudi Arabia, tyre failure caused 13 per cent of the accidents road security forces attended in 2001.

A tyre 1 bar below the maker's pressure can add 11 m to the braking distance on a wet road. Pressure below the maker's figure also raises the risk of aquaplaning sharply.

A mismatched tyre changes the rolling circumference on its axle. The ESP and an indirect pressure monitor can then misread the wheels, and the car can pull to one side.
For the 2015 Wrangler, Jeep notes that front and rear tyres carry different loads and steering work, so they wear at unequal rates. Rotation at the maker's interval spreads that wear across the set.
XL, HL and Reinforced tyres carry a higher load than normal for their size. We replace them with the same load class, so the car keeps its load capacity.
The RTA vehicle test inspects wheels and tyres. New tyres we fit reach that inspection in date and with full tread.
A car tyre in the UAE is valid for a maximum of 5 years from its date of manufacture, regardless of its appearance. At purchase, the limit is 1 year from manufacture. Expired tyres fail the RTA technical test, and the 2017 fines schedule sets AED 500 and a 7-day impound for driving on them.
The manufacturing date is the last 4 digits of the DOT code on the sidewall, and the first 2 of them give the week. A tyre stamped 1525 was made in week 15 of 2025.
We read the date code on every tyre we fit. A tyre past the limit gets a replacement from us, even with tread left on it.
Yes. A tread puncture on a car tyre can be repaired once the inside of the tyre passes an inspection. A shoulder puncture means a new tyre, and Jeep limits a 2015 Wrangler repair to tread damage with a puncture no greater than 6 mm.
A plug pushed in from outside leaves the inside of the tyre unchecked, so that repair is strongly disadvised. We take the tyre off the rim and examine its inside for damage. Then we prepare the hole, insert a plug-patch from the inside and glue it for a complete seal.
A tyre change in our workshop runs through 6 steps, from the old tread to the last wheel nut.
We look over the old tyres for uneven wear, because poor alignment or out-of-balance wheels wear tread early. A car whose old tyres show that pattern gets its wheels aligned after the fitting.
With the old tyre off, we inspect the rim for rust and damage and replace a damaged rim. Every new tyre then gets a new valve.
We fit the size, load figure and speed figure the car's maker specifies. The speed figure marks the top speed at which a tyre carries its maximum load.
A directional tyre goes on with its tread facing the right direction of rotation. An asymmetric tyre goes on with the side marked outside facing out.
Each wheel gets a dynamic balance, because a tyre that is replaced or refitted needs a new one. We then inflate it to the cold pressure the car's maker recommends.
We use a torque wrench to tighten the nuts fully to the maker's figure. On a 2025 Hyundai Tucson, that figure is 11 to 13 kgf.m.

5 factors shape the price of a car tyre change in Dubai: size, load and speed figures, type, tyre count and valve type. A run-flat tyre, a set of 4 and a pressure-sensor valve each change the price. Your current sidewalls carry the markings we price from.
For the 2015 Wrangler, Jeep links four-wheel-drive operation to tyres of equal size and type, which can turn a pair into a set of 4. Jeep also specifies another run-flat of identical size and service description for a damaged run-flat tyre.

A valve with a pressure sensor stays in the wheel when the tyre is new. We replace the seal inside it, which keeps the valve airtight.
We examine every tyre on the car, the spare included. The spare gets the same date code and pressure check as the 4 road tyres, and a replacement once it passes the age limit.
On the 2025 Tucson, Hyundai puts a warm tyre at 28 to 41 kPa above its cold pressure. We never let air out of a warm tyre, because it ends up under-inflated once it cools.
We fit a cap to each valve we touch. A valve needs its cap to prevent air loss.
We correct the reason for rapid or unusual wear before we rotate the tyres, the order Jeep sets for the 2015 Wrangler.

In Dubai, car tyres last longer with 4 owner habits: fortnightly pressure checks, care with low-profile tyres, no sidewall shine and a wheel nut recheck. The first 3 cut heat, impact damage and cracking, and the fourth keeps the wheels secure. We inspect the tread, sidewalls and rim after any hard strike, and replace the part it has damaged.
Adjust the tyre pressures every 2 weeks, before the tyres warm up. For the 2025 Tucson, Hyundai counts a tyre as cold when the car has covered less than 1.6 km.
Hyundai notes that low-profile tyres, with an aspect ratio below 50, and their wheels damage easily. Hyundai sets a 3,000 km condition and pressure check for these tyres on the Tucson.
Chemicals that shine tyres can strip the protective agents from the rubber. The sidewalls then crack sooner.
Kia tells Sorento owners to recheck and tighten the wheel nuts about 50 km after new tyres go on. A second check follows at about 1,000 km.

Yes. Each new tyre we fit gets a new valve. Part of every valve is rubber, and that rubber loses its sealing properties as it ages. An old valve can leak air from a sound tyre.
Yes. Every tyre we fit gets balanced on its wheel. A replaced or refitted tyre needs a new dynamic balance, and a wheel out of balance shakes the steering.
Rotation follows the car maker's schedule. Hyundai sets every 12 months or 15,000 km for the 2025 Tucson, and Jeep sets every 10,000 km in the Middle East. Directional and asymmetric tyres move front to rear on the same side, and we rotate them that way.
All 4 at once is Kia's first choice for the Sorento. On the 2025 Tucson, a 2024 Kia coded MQ4 and the 2015 Wrangler, front or rear tyres are otherwise replaced in pairs. Jeep warns that replacing a single tyre can seriously affect handling. We replace tyres by axle pair at the least.
Driving on a flat tyre can damage its carcass. A tyre with a damaged carcass is too weak to repair, even when the puncture sits in the tread. Jeep, for the 2015 Wrangler, rules out a repair on any tyre driven on when flat.
