GMC minor and major service

We carry out the minor or major service the km reading calls for and renew the worn parts it turns up. On the 2024 Sierra HD, the UAE schedule also greases the leaf springs at each service.

GMC oil change services

Once the old oil is out, we change the filter and bring the engine up to its own grade and capacity. A 2025 Yukon V8 holds 7.6 litres of dexos1 full synthetic SAE 0W-20 with the filter. The 6.6 litre V8 of a 2025 Sierra HD takes the same 7.6 litres of dexos1 oil in SAE 5W-30.

GMC engine repair

Misfires, oil leaks, overheating and engine lights are traced to the failed part, which we replace. A 2025 Sierra 1500 uses an L3B 2.7 litre four, an L84 5.3 litre V8 or an L87 6.2 litre V8. The 2025 Sierra HD carries the 6.6 litre L8T V8, and the 2024 Terrain a 1.5 litre LSD.

GMC transmission repair: gearbox and driveshaft

Our technicians read the gearbox codes, seal leaks at the casing and cooler lines, and repair driveshafts and transfer cases. The 2026 Sierra LD pairs its TurboMax engine with a Gen 2 8-speed and its V8s with a 10-speed automatic. In a 2025 Sierra 1500, the 8-speed takes DEXRON-HP, the 10-speed DEXRON ULV and the 4WD transfer case DEXRON-VI.

GMC suspension repair and wheel alignment

Our technicians renew worn shock absorbers, control arms, bushes and tie rod ends, then align the wheels and centre the steering. A 2025 Yukon can carry Magnetic Ride Control, a semi-active damping system. The 2026 Sierra LD AT4X rides on spool-valve dampers.

GMC brake pads service

Pads and discs are changed in pairs across each axle, and we flush the brake fluid, DOT 4 on the Yukon, Sierra, Terrain and Canyon. A 2025 Yukon shows a Brake Pad Life estimate for the front and rear pads, and we reset it after the pad change. Its built-in wear indicators make a high-pitched sound once the linings are worn.

GMC AC repair and service

We locate the leak, replace the failed compressor, condenser or hose, and refill the refrigerant by weight to the label under the bonnet. From the 2023 Canyon to the 2025 Yukon, GMC Middle East manuals point to that label for the refrigerant type and charge. The A/C maintenance of a 2025 Yukon includes a new desiccant.

GMC battery replacement

After testing the battery and the charging circuit, we match the replacement to the battery type GMC fitted at the factory. A 2025 Yukon, a 2024 Terrain and a 2025 Sierra 1500 with Stop/Start take an AGM battery. For the Yukon and the Terrain, GMC states that a standard 12-volt battery cuts battery life.

GMC electrical repair

We read each control module and follow a stored code along its circuit. The sensor, wire, connector or module at fault is then repaired or replaced. The work covers starters, alternators, lights and dashboard faults.

Record the messages and codes

We write down the messages on the cluster, the oil life left and the codes held in each module.

Inspect the underbody on the lift

With the truck raised, the springs, driveshaft, transfer case, brake lines and gearbox cooler lines get a check for wear and leaks.

Test the part behind each code

We test the circuit or component behind every code until the failed part is found.

Fit the part and complete the due items

We fit the new part and finish the schedule items due at the km reading, with the fluids listed for that engine and gearbox.

Road-test under load and recheck

The truck then goes out on a loaded road test, and back in the bay its codes are read again and each fluid level checked.

Middle East documents

We take grades, capacities and intervals from GMC's Middle East owner's manuals and UAE schedule pages. The 2024 Sierra HD schedule renews the transfer case fluid at 40,000 km and the gearbox filter and fluid at 70,000 km.

GCC recalls looked up

Every GMC we take in is looked up in the recall notices of the UAE, Saudi and Qatari ministries. We send an open campaign to a GMC dealer. A 2021 Yukon, for one, carries a 2022 UAE recall for a body control module software update on its daytime running lights.

AGM charging at 14.8 volts

We charge an AGM battery on the charger AGM setting, which limits the voltage to 14.8 volts. GMC sets that limit for the 2025 Yukon and the 2023 Canyon.

Severe service for city heat

A 2025 Yukon driven mostly in dense city traffic through hot weather falls under GMC's severe service schedule. That schedule changes the transfer case fluid of a 4WD Yukon every 80,000 km, and we follow it for a Yukon driven that way.

Dust allowed for

Dust in the oil goes unseen by the oil life reading on a 2025 Yukon. For a Yukon driven in dusty areas, we set the next oil and filter change before the 10,000 km mark.

Dealer work passed on

Hummer EV high voltage work and the set-up of driver-assistance cameras and radar go to a GMC dealer. So do engine or gearbox rebuilds and GMC special-tool jobs, while servicing and every other repair stay in our bays.
