Q7 all-wheel steering and roll stabilisation
On a Q7 with all-wheel steering, an electric spindle drive turns the rear wheels up to 5 degrees against the front wheels at low speed. We replace worn anti-roll bar links and mounts on cars with electromechanical active roll stabilisation.
Q7 engine repair
The revised Q7 uses 3.0 litre V6 TDI and V6 TFSI engines, and the SQ7 TFSI uses the 4.0 TFSI V8. We repair oil leaks, coolant leaks and cooling faults on all three.
Q7 transmission and quattro repair
Every revised Q7 drives through an eight-speed tiptronic and quattro permanent four-wheel drive. We repair the gearbox and the optional sport differential, which shifts torque between the rear wheels through 2 multi-disc clutches.
Q7 battery and 48 V electrics
The Q7 of 2015 to 2023 carries its 12 V lead-acid battery under a floor flap, and the SQ7 adds a 48 V lithium-ion battery. We test and replace both batteries.
Q7 brake repair
The SQ7 TFSI stops on 400 mm front discs and 350 mm rear discs. Our pad and disc replacement matches the size and type each Q7 version carries.

- Steering warning lamp: a sensor signal discrepancy on a Q7 with rear-wheel steering lights the steering lamp. Audi has released a software update for it, which we leave to an Audi dealer.
- V6 TFSI coolant loss: a Q7 with the V6 TFSI can lose coolant with the coolant and engine lamps lit. Audi traces the leak to the coolant pump, which we replace.
- SQ7 coolant loss or overheating: the 4.0 TFSI V8 in the SQ7 can lose coolant from its mechanical coolant pump. We replace the pump and any vacuum part that coolant has reached.
- SQ7 oil use: an SQ7 with the 4.0 TFSI V8 can burn too much oil with no visible leak. Audi's fix is a new piston ring geometry, and we refer the car to an Audi dealer for it.
- Gear cannot be selected: a Q7 or SQ7 with the 0D5, 0D6 or 0D7 gearbox can fail to engage gear or leave park. We rule out the selector lever first, then repair the gearbox fault.
- Second-gear starts: a Q7 or SQ7 with the 0D5 or 0D6 gearbox can pull away in second gear in ACC driving, downhill or in congestion. Audi states this is no fault and new parts do not change it, so we leave the gearbox as it is.
