A Jaguar shows 6 oil signs: SERVICE REQUIRED, add-oil and overfill messages, a monitor fault, low oil pressure and a hot F-PACE P6 no-start. Each sign calls for a check before fresh oil goes in. We trace every sign to its cause, then fix it.
On a Jaguar with the Service Interval Indicator active, SERVICE REQUIRED lights up when the starter switch is pressed. JLR does not activate the indicator in every market. We change the oil and filter when the message comes up.
A 3.0 litre petrol XE or an F-TYPE with low oil shows the amount to pour in, for example "Add 0.5 Litre". With "Engine Oil Level Underfilled", the car wants 1.5 litres and then a fresh reading. We top up to the STJLR code, then find the leak or the part that uses oil and repair it.
On a 3.0 litre petrol XE or an F-TYPE, this message means the car stays parked, because driving it seriously damages the engine. We drain off the excess until the level sits back inside the range.
On a 3.0 litre petrol XE or an F-TYPE, this message signals a fault in the oil level system and asks for qualified assistance. Our technicians test the sensor and the wiring to it, then fix the circuit or fit a new sensor.
On the XE and XF, this message means stop the engine as soon as it is safe. It stays off until the cause is put right. Once the level is confirmed, we trace the pressure loss to its source and repair it.
JLR has documented F-PACE P6 engines that crank but do not start when hot, after oil services with filters missing 2 O-rings. The missing O-rings cause oil pressure loss or no CVVL operation. JLR's fix is a filter to its specification and a further oil change, and we carry out both.

Jaguar engine oil breaks down in Dubai from 6 causes: sand, heat, hybrid running, the wrong specification, overfilling and turbo or diesel oil use. Each cause fouls the oil, thins it or uses it up. The first 2 count as arduous conditions in JLR's service terms.
From June to August, daily highs at Dubai International Airport average 40.3 °C to 41.9 °C, with rising sand on 17.7 days annually. JLR tested the F-PACE in Dubai, where shade temperatures can exceed 50 °C. JLR recommends more frequent oil changes in arduous conditions, so a Jaguar driven in that dust and heat gets an earlier next change from us.

On a 3.0 litre petrol XE or an F-TYPE, the display reads "Engine Oil Level OK" once the level sits inside the required range.
Lubricants outside Jaguar's recommendation can compromise the performance and smoothness of the engine and damage its internal parts. The oil Jaguar recommends keeps both intact.
The 0W-20 grade JLR lists for Jaguar engines is a low-viscosity oil. Lower viscosity cuts friction inside the engine.
Soot or dust in engine oil scratches the surfaces it touches. A new filter with the new oil keeps those particles out of circulation.
On an XF (X260), oil that misses the required specification can increase pollution. Oil to the listed code avoids that rise.
A new sealing ring on the drain plug keeps it tight after the change. Where the ring is fixed to the plug, we fit a whole new plug.
A Jaguar needs the SAE grade and the Jaguar Land Rover specification, an STJLR code, that JLR lists for its engine. On the 2016 XE, the 3.0 litre petrol takes 0W-20 to STJLR.51.5122, the 2.0 litre petrol 5W-30 to STJLR.03.5003 and the 2.0 litre diesel 0W-30 to STJLR.03.5007.
The 2016 XF (X260) lists the same 3 pairings, and the F-TYPE takes 0W-20 to STJLR.51.5122. On the XF and F-TYPE, JLR also asks for an oil suited to the climate the car runs in. We read the engine code and fill to the pairing listed for it.
Your Jaguar needs its scheduled service every 13,000 km or 12 months, at whichever point it reaches first, as JLR sets it for UAE cars. At each due point, the km on the car decides whether it gets a major or a minor service.
For the XF and XJ from the 2013 models on, JLR's GCC plan set an A Service every 6 months or 13,000 km. The XK 5.0 litre under the same plan ran on 6 months or 12,000 km. We check your km and the last change date against the plan for your model.
Every Jaguar engine we service goes through these 6 steps in order.
We check the fault memory and the oil level while the old oil is still in. Any level, monitor or pressure fault on record is fixed as part of the job.
Before either one opens, we clean round the drain plug and the filler cap, so sand stays out of the engine.
The old oil drains out and the old filter comes off. Its replacement goes in with both O-rings seated.
Oil goes in to the MIN mark, and the engine runs until it has oil pressure. Then 0.1 litre steps bring it up to MAX. On an XF (X260) dipstick, MIN to MAX is about 0.85 litre on the petrol engine and 1.8 litres on the diesel.
A 2.0 litre XE reads on its dipstick, with the oil cold or after a 5-minute stand when hot. The 3.0 litre petrol XE has no dipstick and reads hot on its display instead.
A leak check at the plug and the filter follows, with the engine idling. Then we reset the service reminder so that it counts from the new oil.

The cost of a Jaguar oil change in Dubai rests on 4 things: oil quantity, STJLR code, filter and any fault found. Each engine holds its own volume of oil, and its code narrows the bottles that qualify. A stored oil fault adds diagnosis and repair to the job.

The 2020 F-PACE came with 2.0 litre and 3.0 litre engines, petrol and diesel, plus a plug-in hybrid. The badge does not settle the oil, so we read the engine fitted before choosing it.
For the 3.0 litre petrol XF (X260), JLR allows 5W-20 to STJLR.03.5004 when its 0W-20 is unavailable. The XF's 2.0 litre diesel has 5W-30 to STJLR.03.5005 as its fallback. We fill a fallback grade only where JLR allows one.
On the F-TYPE, JLR rules out oil additives of any type, because engine damage can occur. Nothing goes into the engine beyond the oil its code lists.
The F-PACE P400e combines a 2.0 litre four-cylinder petrol engine and a 105 kW motor. The E-PACE P300e uses a 1.5 litre three-cylinder Ingenium petrol engine. We change the oil and filter of the petrol engine in each.
When a Jaguar loses oil between changes, we fill it to MAX and record its fuel use over the next 1,000 km. The oil it takes to refill is the consumption, and the repair follows the cause that figure reveals.

The F-TYPE's engines measure 2,995 cc for the 3.0 litre V6 and 5,000 cc for the 5.0 litre V8. In the UAE, Jaguar sells the F-PACE SVR 575 Edition with a 5.0 litre engine.
Between oil changes in Dubai, 4 owner habits protect a Jaguar engine. They are weekly level checks, small top-ups, one STJLR code for top-ups and a booking within the UAE grace period. Each habit holds the oil at its level and code until we carry out the next change.
On the XE, XF and F-TYPE, JLR sets the engine oil check as weekly. A significant or sudden drop in the level calls for qualified help.
On the XF and F-TYPE, add oil a little at a time and recheck it after a 5-minute wait. Small amounts keep the level under the MAX mark.
Top-up oil follows the same STJLR code as the main fill.
JLR gives UAE owners a window of 1 month or 1,600 km on each side of the due date or km, whichever ends first. A change booked within it keeps the car on the UAE schedule.

The 3.0 litre petrol XE has no dipstick. Park on level ground with the parking brake on, the oil hot and the engine off for a 10-minute wait. Then switch the ignition on and select Oil Level in the Vehicle Info menu. Our level check after a change uses the same menu.
