A Bentley engine fault shows 6 signs. The flashing engine lamp and the engine oil lamp light up on the Drivers Instrument Panel. The other 4 are a ticking W12, oil under the car, blue smoke and a climbing temperature gauge.
On a Bentayga W12, or a third-generation Continental GT or Flying Spur W12, Bentley traces a tick from the upper engine to the valvetrain. Low oil pressure warnings can come with it. We repair the valvetrain wear behind it.
Weak ignition coils cause misfires on any engine. On a worn W12, incorrect valve operation can also lead to misfires and a flashing engine lamp. We replace the failed coil or plug, and a misfire that stays leads us to the valvetrain.
An engine oil warning lamp on the Drivers Instrument Panel, with top-ups due before the next service, marks oil leaving the engine. We find out whether a leak, burning or normal use takes it, then repair the leak or the burning fault.
Fresh drops under the engine mark a leak, and a leak is a separate fault from oil consumption. Each needs its own repair. We replace the seal, gasket or fixing that leaks.
Blue smoke with a falling oil level means the engine burns oil, and the turbochargers belong in the search. Excess crankcase pressure can force oil mist into the cylinders, and a clogged turbo oil return is a second source. We replace the turbo seal, clear the oil return or repair the crankcase ventilation, whichever lets the oil through.
An overheating engine can show a rising temperature needle, lost power or a loud pinging. Switch the AC off when the needle climbs. We find the pump, thermostat, fan or hose that failed and replace it.

Bentley engine failure in Dubai has 6 known causes. Bentley has confirmed 2 on its own engines, W12 valvetrain wear and leaking V8 fixings, and a GCC recall covers a coolant pump. The other 3 are oil use in idling traffic, turbochargers short of oil or hit by sand, and soiled radiator fins.
In August, Dubai International Airport averages a 41.9 °C daily maximum, and 17.7 days annually bring rising sand. A car crawling in a queue gets no road air through its fins, so the fan carries the whole cooling load.

A Bentley engine with the 404/V8 from 18MY can use 0.8 litres of oil in 1,000 km, Bentley's acceptable maximum. The 447/W12 and 467/W12 from 17MY go up to 1.0 litre. A top-up between services is normal when the engine shows no leak and no blue smoke.
The rate depends on oil quality and viscosity, engine speed, outside temperature and road conditions. Water condensation and fuel residue dilute the oil and add to the variation.
Our oil use test covers the Bentayga V8 and the third-generation Continental GT and Flying Spur V8. We top the oil up to the maximum mark and measure what the engine needs after 1,000 km. Below 0.7 litres, the use sits within Bentley's figure.
Above 0.7 litres, we weigh the oil at the fill and again at the drain after a further 1,000 km. The result tells us whether to repair a leak or internal wear.
We take a Bentley engine through these steps, in this order:
We film a ticking or clicking noise and note whether it comes from the upper or lower engine. The warnings on the Drivers Instrument Panel and the conditions of the fault go on record too.
We read the fault memory of the engine electronics. A W12 with a worn valvetrain can store P052400, engine oil pressure too low, and the code leads us to the part we repair.
We look for oil in the engine bay and under the car. Next comes the tailpipe at start-up, idle, throttle and under load, on a cold and a warm engine. We then repair the part that lets oil into the cylinders.
On a W12 with low oil pressure, we remove the lower oil sump and look for metal debris. Debris takes us under the cam covers to find the valvetrain parts we renew.
We pressurise the cooling system and watch for the gauge to fall. A falling gauge takes us to the hose, joint or pump that leaks, and we replace it.
We take the car out in the same conditions that brought the fault on. A last check covers the oil and coolant levels and each joint we opened.

The cost of Bentley engine repair in Dubai comes down to 3 factors: engine family, access work and damage done before the repair. A W12 and a 4.0 litre V8 differ in layout and parts. On a Bentayga, the front end module comes off to reach the V8 vacuum system fixings.

The W12 carries engine codes such as DDBA, DDBB and DDBD across the Continental GT, Bentayga and Flying Spur. We order each part against the code of the car in our workshop.

The Bentayga W12 makes 608 PS and 900 Nm, with both direct and indirect fuel injection. The third-generation Flying Spur took its W12 from the Bentayga.
The Bentayga Speed now runs a twin-turbo 4.0 litre V8 of 650 PS in place of the earlier W12.
A Bentley engine stays healthy for longer in Dubai through 4 owner habits. Top up with the oil listed for the VIN, allow for running-in, judge oil use over mixed driving and keep the service record complete. Each habit keeps watch on the lubrication that the valvetrain and the turbochargers depend on.
The correct oil for each Bentley model and engine follows from its VIN. Keep a supply of that oil for top-ups between services. We order engine oil by the VIN of each car we work on.
An engine with a set running-in period uses more oil during it, then settles. Follow Bentley's running-in procedure for a new engine.
Fuel and water that dilute the oil evaporate on a motorway run. The level then drops, and the engine looks as if it burns too much oil.
