A Bentley that needs brake work shows 6 signs, and each one below comes with its repair. Three appear in the instrument panel: a parking brake warning, an EPB fault warning and a pad wear warning. Three reach the driver as sound or feel: a squeal in reverse, a click at a stop and pedal judder.
The red parking brake warning of a third-generation GT, GTC or Flying Spur can light when a rear parking brake motor reports an implausible speed. Bentley also names a parking brake that holds the car poorly and worn parking brake parts. We inspect both actuators and their wiring, then repair the wiring or replace the faulty actuator.
An EPB fault warning on a fourth-generation GT, GTC or Flying Spur can come from the parking brake button or its wiring. Bentley's fix starts at the switch connectors and the harness, checked for pinched or trapped wires. We repair the wiring first, and we replace the switch when the wiring is sound and the fault stays.
On a second-generation Continental GT, GTC or Flying Spur, the pad wear warning can light while the pads are still serviceable. Bentley traces this to a damaged wear indicator cable. We fit a new rear cable, and a damaged front cable means new front pads.
With iron brakes, the front of a third-generation GT, GTC or Flying Spur can squeal at 1.5 kHz when braking in reverse. For cars built before its pad update, Bentley's fix is front pads of its later specification, with new upper and lower calliper fixings. We fit the pads and the fixings together.
A first-generation Bentayga can click at the front wheels when it brakes to a stop in a straight line. Bentley's fix is 2 new front discs. We fit both discs and renew the pads when they are worn, cracked or unevenly worn.
Pedal judder can start from a disc thickness variation of as little as 0.015 mm. The pads are pushed into the thin areas of the disc and kicked back by the thick ones. We measure each disc for thickness variation and replace any disc beyond the limit.

Bentley brake noise and wear in Dubai trace back to 6 causes that Bentley names as the most common. Two concern the parts, one concerns how new parts were treated, and 3 concern what reaches the disc face. We replace any pad or disc that shows one of them.
Dubai's road network carries over 3.5 million vehicles a day, and city driving can bring pad wear much earlier than open roads. A pad worn to a taper signals a faulty calliper. Our technicians repair or replace that calliper with the new pads.

Registration renewal in Dubai depends on the periodic vehicle test, and its brake check covers parking brake performance and efficiency. A parking brake with sound actuators clears that check.
The Bentayga's rear squeal faults show at low speed. Once a squeal is fixed at its source, stop-start driving in Dubai stays quiet.
Brake fluid with a sound boiling point stays clear of vapour bubbles. The pedal keeps its travel when the brakes run hot.
Matched parts, clean pads and callipers that move freely press with equal force on both sides, so the car stops without pulling.
Discs of even thickness give the pads a constant face, so no judder reaches the pedal.
With sound indicator cables, the pad wear warning lights when the pads reach their limit and not before.
A Bentayga with iron brakes squeals from the rear when friction between the rear pads and discs sets up a vibration at low speed. Bentley names 3 frequencies: 1.2 to 1.4 kHz, 3.4 kHz and 5 kHz. Each frequency has its own repair, so the frequency decides what we fit.
At 1.2 to 1.4 kHz, Bentley's fix adds a shim to each rear pad, set in a specified grease. At 3.4 kHz, the fix is a new pair of rear calliper carriers. At 5 kHz, the car takes a new rear pad set, with the shims added where they are missing.
These fixes cover iron brakes alone. On a Bentayga with CSiC discs, we refer pad and disc work to a Bentley dealer.
Bentley carbon ceramic brakes use Carbon-Silicon-Carbide (CSiC) discs in place of iron discs. On a fourth-generation Continental GT Speed, the CSiC option measures 440 x 40 mm at the front and 410 x 32 mm at the rear. The iron discs on that car measure 420 x 40 mm and 380 x 30 mm.
The third-generation Continental GT Speed pairs ceramic 440 mm front discs with 10-piston callipers. Bentley called it the largest car brake in the world, and its pads use a friction material without copper. On that car, the ceramic option saves 33 kg of unsprung weight against iron brakes, for more responsive handling.
A Bentayga Speed offers carbon ceramic brakes as an option, and its 23-inch wheel comes with them alone. On the Bentayga Apex Edition, CSiC discs save over 20 kg against iron discs and withstand up to 1,000 °C.
A carbon ceramic disc loses about 1.25 per cent of its weight over its whole life, so Bentley judges its wear by weight. We refer CSiC disc weighing, pad work and disc renewal to a Bentley dealer.
Our technicians take each Bentley through these steps.
One technician drives while the second records the brake noise from outside the cabin. The recording shows the peak frequency of a squeal. Worn steering or suspension parts with similar symptoms are ruled out on the same drive.
A diagnostic tool reads the brake electronics control unit for pad wear and parking brake entries. A stored parking brake or pad wear code sends us to the actuator, wiring or cable we then repair or replace.
Every iron disc is gauged in 4 places or more. Its thinnest figure is checked against MIN TH, the minimum thickness stamped on the disc, and the pads are gauged in the same pass.
Brake cleaner takes dirt and brake dust off the pad contact faces of each calliper carrier. Each piston face is wiped clean. We check the pistons, seals and slide pins in the same step.
Each new disc goes on and is checked to run within 0.10 mm of true. The pads follow, and the fluid reservoir rises as the pistons go back.
We bleed any circuit we opened and pump the pedal to normal travel before the car moves. The road test avoids stabbing the pedal or holding it over 3 seconds, and listens for any noise left.

The cost of Bentley brake pads and disc replacement in Dubai rests on 4 factors. They are pads alone or with discs, the axle, the repair a noise frequency calls for, and actuator, switch or fluid work. We base the quote on the wear we measure.

Where Bentley's squeal fix calls for shims, each shim clip gets 6 dots of grease, under 1.0 g in total, spread to an even layer. After the road test, we remove any grease that has pressed out.
The rubber guide pins of a new Bentayga rear carrier hold a preset amount of grease. We never take them out of the carrier.
Bentley states that a pad refitted in the wrong position affects the car's performance. We mark each pad's position before removal and refit it there.
Bentley's rear pad shims are reusable. We clean and inspect each shim before it moves to a new pad.
A 0.05 mm speck of rust between hub and disc can cause over 0.1 mm of runout. Each hub face is scraped and cleaned before we mount a disc.
We tighten every wheel bolt to Bentley's torque figure, in sequence, with a torque wrench.

Bentley's type codes are 3S3, 3S4 and ZG2 for the third-generation GT, GTC and Flying Spur, and Z23, Z24 and Z32 for the fourth. The Bentayga carries 4V1.
A fourth-generation GT Speed brakes with 10-piston front and 4-piston rear callipers. A fourth-generation Flying Spur runs 420 x 40 mm front and 380 x 30 mm rear iron discs. We order each iron disc to the size on the car.
Bentley brakes last longer in Dubai with 4 owner habits. Two protect the discs and pads: a gentle bedding-in and a weekly short move for a parked car. Fluid changed on time and engine braking downhill protect the fluid and limit heat, and we check that fluid at every brake job.
New pads and discs follow the car maker's bedding-in procedure. Without one, they get at least 200 km of gentle braking, with no sudden braking over 3 seconds and no ABS activation.
Corrosion builds up on the discs of a car that stands, and the pads can stick to them. Moving the car a short distance about once a week works against both.
Brake fluid absorbs water from the air, and the water lowers its boiling point. We test the boiling point and replace fluid that measures below 180 °C.
On a long descent, a lower gear holds the speed and keeps heat out of the brakes.
