A worn Alfa Romeo suspension shows 6 signs. Alfa Romeo describes 3 of them: a damper warning, oily rear shocks on a Stelvio and misjudging park sensors. A clunk from one corner, a car that bobs after humps and a bonnet that pitches down when braking complete the list.
On a Giulia, Stelvio or Tonale with electronic dampers, this symbol lights up while driving to flag a fault in the suspension system. We read the suspension fault codes, then check the plug and wiring at the damper the code names. A broken wire gets repaired, and a damper with a failed actuator or valve gets replaced.
On Stelvio (GU) cars from one build period, Alfa Romeo has acknowledged a rear noise while driving and oil leaking from the rear shocks. Its fix is a new rear shock on one side or both. We inspect both rear shocks and replace each one that leaks.
Play in a worn ball joint knocks over bumps and through bends, with a loose or heavy feel at the steering wheel. The tyre on that corner can also wear faster at one edge. We locate the joint with the play and replace it.
A healthy damper quiets the car's movement inside 1 or 2 diminishing swings after a bump. With a worn damper, the car goes on bobbing, and the tyre's grip on the road comes and goes. We fit a new damper on that corner.
Alfa Romeo warns that a change in the ride setting caused by worn shock absorbers or suspension can affect how the park sensors perform. We find the worn shock or spring behind the change and replace it.
When the bonnet pitches down on every stop and the tail sinks on take-off, the shocks have stopped controlling the body's weight shift. We confirm it on the road test, then replace each shock that fails our checks.

Alfa Romeo's electronic dampers carry an actuator or valve at each shock under electronic control, so a repair covers wiring as well as hardware. Where fitted, the Giulia and Stelvio use Alfa Active Suspension and the Tonale uses the Dual Stage Valve system, or DSV.
A Tonale's DSV valve switches each damper between a soft mode for comfort and a hard mode for handling. Alfa Romeo enables DSV in Dynamic mode and disables it in Natural mode.
On a Tonale Mild Hybrid with DSV, the DNA selector also changes the suspension setting. Its hybrid system is an Alfa Romeo dealer job, and we replace its dampers, links and joints.

We drive over humps and broken surfaces in Natural mode, then repeat the route in Dynamic mode. Comparing the two runs shows whether electronic dampers change their setting.
Diagnostic software reads the suspension fault codes, including those behind a shock absorber failure symbol.
A Giulia or Stelvio goes up at the positions marked on its side skirts. On a Tonale, we unclip the covers over the lift positions and refit them once the car is down.
On the lift, we rock and lever each ball joint to find play. Gaiters and bushes are checked for splits, and each shock body for leaking oil.
We fit the new shock, joint, link, bush or spring, ordered by the vehicle identification number.
Camber and toe are reset to specification after fitting. A fresh steering or suspension component can move the geometry even where it has no adjuster. The road test is then driven again to prove the fault has cleared.

Two things decide what Alfa Romeo suspension repair in Dubai costs. They are the type of damper the car carries and the number of parts our checks find worn. The fault code read and the lift inspection set that parts list for each car.
A car with Alfa Active Suspension or DSV takes a damper with its own actuator or valve. A car without either takes a passive damper, and its build decides which one fits.
A knock can trace back to a single link, or to a joint and a bush at once. We renew each part the lift inspection finds worn and leave sound parts in place.

Each wheel's ride height is compared with the maker's specification, and a spring that sits low is replaced.
Torque goes onto a bushed bolt once its arm sits at the ride-height position, never earlier, and we apply the set figure.
Each self-locking fastener we take off an Alfa Romeo goes in the bin, because it is built for one use.
Hand tools bring the piston rod nut to its set torque. An impact wrench can push the torque too high and damage the fixing, which leaves the damper clanging.
We never refit an old bump stop or dust boot with a new shock. Both are renewed to guard the piston rod.

Yes. The workshop in Dubai Investment Park 2 replaces Alfa Romeo shocks, electronic dampers, ball joints, links, bushes and springs, then sets the alignment. Software on the suspension control unit, camera and radar calibration and any open recall go to an Alfa Romeo dealer.
The Giulia and Stelvio offer Alfa Active Suspension, and the Giulia and Stelvio Competizione carry it. The Tonale Veloce has the Dual Stage Valve system. We test and replace the dampers on each of them.
With Race mode active, the suspension is set to Stiff by default. Pressing the suspension button returns it to Automatic, and a symbol on the display confirms the change. That stiff setting is no fault and needs no repair.
Yes. Alfa Romeo warns that tuning work which lowers the car can alter how the park sensors perform, as can a tyre change or overloading. We refit standard-height springs when an owner wants the factory ride height back.
