Warm air from the face vents
An L405 Range Rover or an L494 Range Rover Sport that blows warm air from the face vents at a low setting has lost refrigerant. We trace the leak and replace the leaking part.
Range Rover specialistsRange Rover AC repair in Dubai starts with the climate module. Royal Prince Auto Care in DIP 2 reads its codes, and we fix the cause.

The work we carry out on Range Rover models at our Dubai Investment Park workshop. Open the full details below.
Any of 6 signs means a Range Rover is due for AC repair. Warm face-vent air, weak cooling on an older car and no cold air on a new car point to the front system. Cooling that cuts out on a hybrid, a replacement compressor that fails early and warm rear seats complete the list.
An L405 Range Rover or an L494 Range Rover Sport that blows warm air from the face vents at a low setting has lost refrigerant. We trace the leak and replace the leaking part.
A long-serving L322 Range Rover or L320 Range Rover Sport cools less and less, even with a full charge. We measure the compressor output, then fit the later-level compressor where the output is low.
On an L405, L494, Velar or Evoque plug-in hybrid, the cabin turns warm for spells and then cools again. A high-voltage fault behind it goes to a JLR dealer, and we repair the rest.
A new L405, L494, L551 or L560 can have AC that does not work at all from the start. We confirm the fault and refer the car to a JLR dealer for the module update.
A replacement compressor on an L405 or L494 stops cooling soon after it is fitted. We fit a new compressor in its place.
Rear passengers in an L405 or L494 feel no cold air while the front stays cool. We check the rear climate settings, then test the rear circuit and repair the part at fault.
Range Rover AC repair in Dubai at our workshop takes in these stages:
HVAC is JLR's name for the heating, ventilation and air conditioning module, which stores the climate fault codes. The regas, or AC gas refill, is the last stage of the job. We carry out every stage in our workshop in Dubai Investment Park 2.
Range Rover AC failure in Dubai has 6 causes on the models listed below. They are leaking service port valves, worn compressors, an incorrect compressor run-in, low power on hybrids, climate module software, and rear climate settings. The list gives each cause with the models it affects.
Dubai averages daily highs above 40 °C in June, July and August. A leak takes compressor oil out with the refrigerant, and a low charge cuts the cool returning gas that keeps the compressor cool. In that heat, we repair the leak and restore the full charge.
We match the symptom to the cause for the model, then repair or replace the part at fault.
We work to JLR's fix for each model, and the driver gets these results:
Air from the face vents of an L405 or L494 runs cold again at a low setting.
On a 4-zone L405, each rear passenger sets their own temperature again.
A sealed circuit keeps its charge, so an L405 or L494 still cools in August.
A replacement compressor on an L405 or L494 keeps cooling instead of failing early.
A plug-in hybrid L405, L494, Velar or Evoque cools without cutting out once its power fault is repaired.
An L322 or L320 with a later-level compressor cools strongly again.
A Range Rover AC runs on R-1234yf or R-134a, and JLR lists both for the L405, L494 and 2025 Range Rover and Range Rover Sport. On those 2025 models, the charge weight differs by gas and by auxiliary climate control. We confirm the gas on the car before any charge goes in.
A 2025 Range Rover or Range Rover Sport with auxiliary climate control takes 1,000 g of R-1234yf or 1,150 g of R-134a. Without it, the figures are 800 g and 890 g.
The L405 Range Rover offered a premium 4-zone system at launch, and its rear climate control comes in 3-zone and 4-zone forms. The 4-zone version gives each rear side its own setting. The current Velar also offers 4-zone climate control.
Plug-in hybrid versions of the L405 Range Rover, L494 Range Rover Sport, L560 Velar and L551 Evoque cool the cabin with an electric AC compressor. Its power comes through the hybrid powertrain, so an AC fault on these cars can start outside the AC. We read the powertrain and high-voltage module codes as well as the climate codes.
Any electric AC compressor, including the one in these hybrids, takes insulating oil, never the PAG oil of a belt-driven compressor. The wrong oil creates a shock risk. We use the insulating oil the maker specifies.
The job runs from the module read to a final test of every zone:
We read the stored codes and the live data for refrigerant pressure, evaporator temperature and blower speed. The readings show whether the fault is a leak, a part or a setting.
Vent temperatures are taken at the front face vents and in each rear zone, with the lowest temperature selected.
We search the ports, pipes, condenser and compressor with an electronic detector before any refrigerant goes in. A leaking service port stays disconnected, and the refrigerant comes out through the opposite port.
The new compressor, condenser, evaporator or pipe goes in with a new dryer. Following a compressor failure, we flush the circuit, including the rear lines on 3-zone and 4-zone L405 and L494 cars.
We evacuate the system, then charge it by weight to the figure JLR lists for the gas and the model.
A new compressor on an L405 or L494 gets JLR's run-in after an engine-off charge and a 5-minute idle. The AC then runs for 5 minutes at 22 °C, with a 75% blower and every dashboard vent open. Last, we repeat the zone test.
To book, send a WhatsApp message with the model, its age and the seats that feel warm.
The cost of Range Rover AC repair in Dubai is set by the part that failed, the leak position, any flush and the refrigerant. An evaporator leak sits inside the dashboard, where a leak is harder to find than at a service port. We confirm which factors apply from the codes and the pressure tests.
Each Range Rover AC job here follows the same method:
We work from the car's model code, from L322 to L461, because faults and fixes differ by generation.
Refrigerant leaves the circuit through a recovery machine and is never released to the air.
We hold the system under vacuum and check that it holds, which removes air and moisture before the charge.
Each pressure reading is logged with the outside temperature, because refrigerant pressure rises with the heat.
We check the cabin air filter on every AC job, because a clogged one lets the evaporator ice up.
Software updates, campaign work and high-voltage repairs go to a JLR dealer, and the rest of the AC work stays with us.
We repair AC systems on these Range Rover lines, listed with JLR's model codes:
The L460 Range Rover and L461 Range Rover Sport offer Cabin Air Purification Pro. It adds PM2.5 filtration and a second purifier unit for the second row. The current Velar and Evoque offer Cabin Air Purification Plus, run from the Purify button on the Air Quality page.
After AC work on these cars, we confirm that the purification system still starts from its own control.
Range Rover AC lasts longer in Dubai with 4 owner habits. They are a spring AC check, port caps kept on, leaks repaired instead of topped up, and campaigns booked in time. We carry out the spring check and the leak repair, and we refit any missing cap.
An L405, L494, L560 or L551 checked in April has a slow leak found before the June to August heat.
On an L405 or L494, valve leaks at the service ports turn up where the caps were removed. Keep both caps on.
A top-up on a leaking L405 or L494 sends oil out with the refrigerant again. A repaired leak keeps both in the circuit.
JLR runs service campaigns on Range Rover AC systems, and each one has an expiry date. Ask a JLR dealer whether your car has an open one, and book it before it ends.
Tell us the make, model and what the car is doing, and we book it in at our Dubai Investment Park 2 workshop. Free pickup and drop-off by our driver comes with a service contract. Every service comes with a free car wash.

No. Leak repairs, compressor, condenser and evaporator work and recharges are standard workshop repairs on every model listed above. Campaign work, software updates and high-voltage repairs go to a JLR dealer, and we refer those. We carry out the rest in Dubai Investment Park 2.
No. On an L405 or L494, warm face-vent air at a low setting means a leak has lowered the charge. A regas leaves that leak open. We find and repair the leak, then recharge by weight.
Yes. A 2025 Range Rover or Range Rover Sport with auxiliary climate control takes 1,000 g of R-1234yf, against 800 g without it. The R-134a figures are 1,150 g and 890 g. We charge the weight that matches the car's layout and gas.
On an L405, L494, L560 or L551 plug-in hybrid, the electric compressor shuts off when 500 watts or less reaches the climate system. The fault then sits in the power supply, not the AC. We find which system is short of power, then refer a high-voltage fault to a JLR dealer.
