A Mercedes shows 6 AC signs that Mercedes or a UAE recall has documented. Cooling stops soon after a start, fails above 40 °C or drops out after pre-entry climate control. A 48 V model blows warm air, a GLE or GLS loses its charge, or water reaches the cabin.
A GLE or GLS (167) that cools for a moment after a start and then blows warm can have a faulty dew point sensor. We read the sensor's temperature values with diagnostics and replace a sensor that reports an implausible figure.
Mercedes has acknowledged that some A-Class (177) and CLA (118) cars fail to cool at outside temperatures above 40 °C. We check the fan and any radiator shutters, then compare the station gauges with the car's pressure sensor and replace a sensor that disagrees.
On a C-Class (W206), the cooling can stop once the car starts after pre-entry climate control ran from the Mercedes me app. Mercedes' fix is a software update in the drivetrain control unit. We read the code and refer the car to a Mercedes dealer for the update.
A Mercedes that runs its AC compressor on the 48 V system can stop blowing cold air. On M256 engines with 48 V, the air can also turn neutral at random. We check the compressor's index and part number against the Mercedes list and replace a listed compressor.
A GLE or GLS (167) that loses its cooling with no leak under the bonnet can be leaking at the evaporator behind the dashboard. We check the rest of the circuit first, then replace the expansion valve and bracket where the Mercedes remedy applies.
A UAE recall covers GLE and GLS (167) cars of the 2019 to 2021 model years, whose AC drain hoses can be fitted incorrectly. Condensation water then enters the cabin. We check whether the recall is still open on the car, and a Mercedes dealer carries out the recall work.

The refrigerant goes in last, once a vacuum proves the circuit tight, so a Mercedes AC gas refill never enters a leaking system. Each opened circuit gets a new dryer, because its desiccant cannot be regenerated.
Mercedes AC failure in Dubai has 6 documented causes. They are a faulty dew point sensor, condenser heat load, overpressure after pre-cooling, a failed 48 V compressor, an evaporator leak and 48 V faults. Every cause except heat load applies to named Mercedes series.
The A-Class and CLA fault starts above 40 °C. Dubai's mean daily maximum is 40.3 °C in June, 41.5 °C in July and 41.9 °C in August. The city's record high is 48.8 °C, which also raises the condenser's heat load.

Mercedes AC repair on a 48 V car involves an electric refrigerant compressor fed by the 48 V system. Mercedes names this 48 V compressor on the 167, 214, 223, 254 and 465 model series. The M256 engine with 48 V also drives its AC through an electric refrigerant compressor.
Mercedes warns that the 48 V battery contactors on series such as the 206, 214 and 223 can stay closed. More than 3 V then remains after the 12 V ground is off. We measure the 48 V side before compressor work and disconnect the 48 V battery ground when that voltage remains.
Plug-in hybrids such as the E 300 e, and EQ models such as the EQS SUV, run a 400 V system. We refer AC work on those cars to a Mercedes dealer.
Each Mercedes AC job follows these 6 steps:
We read the climate control unit and note when the cooling drops. We also note whether pre-entry climate control or a 48 V message comes with it.
At full cooling, we record the vent temperature, both circuit pressures, and the outside temperature and humidity. The vent figure is then compared with the chart for those conditions.
We fill the empty circuit with forming gas, a mix of nitrogen and hydrogen, and trace the hydrogen with a sniffer. On a GLE or GLS, we sniff at the right front AC drain to test the evaporator.
We fit the new compressor, expansion valve, evaporator, sensor or hose. After a 48 V compressor failure, we also replace the dryer and expansion valve and flush the circuit, as Mercedes instructs.
A vacuum draws air and moisture out of the Mercedes circuit and shows that it holds. We then charge the refrigerant to the weight on the car's label.
We run the step 2 test again and compare the new readings with the first set.

Mercedes AC lasts longer in Dubai through 4 steps that the owner takes. They are a check before the hot months, a monthly AC run in the cooler season, a clear condenser and a clean cabin filter. Each step protects the charge, the compressor oil or the airflow across the evaporator.
