A Chevrolet AC fault shows in 6 ways: warm vents, cooling that fades in traffic, a hiss at switch-on and weak airflow. A 2025 or 2026 Tahoe, Suburban or Silverado 1500 can also give a pop from the dashboard. On a 2020 to 2023 Captiva, weak cooling can have a recall behind it.
Weak cooling or warm vents on a 2024 or 2025 Silverado 1500 can come from a slow leak at the receiver-dryer desiccant cap. Scoring inside the desiccant chamber can let the refrigerant escape there. GM's fix is a new condenser, and we fit one once a refrigerant sniffer confirms the leak at the cap.
Vents that run cold on the open road but warm at a standstill point to the condenser fan. At idle and low speed, the fan moves the air through the condenser. Our technician checks the fan motor and the pressure switch signal, then replaces the failed part.
A hiss heard when the compressor cuts in or out means refrigerant is escaping from a line, a seal or the condenser. The sound is loudest while the pressure changes. That leak is repaired in step 4 of our process.
On a 2024 Tahoe or Suburban, reduced airflow, window fogging or odours can mean the passenger compartment air filter is due. The filter holds back dust, pollen and other irritants in the outside air. We fit a new filter behind the glove box.
On a 2025 or 2026 Tahoe, Suburban or Silverado 1500, a pop in the HVAC case can mean a binding temperature door. The pop comes as the driver or passenger temperature changes, and a high spot on the door can make it rub the case. We confirm the binding through the dash vents with a borescope, then fit a new upper evaporator case and relearn the actuators.
A 2023 recall in the UAE covers 7,126 Captiva cars from 2020 to 2023, which can lose AC cooling or engine power. In high heat, smoke or fire has occurred in the engine bay of these cars. GM's fix is new 30A fuses for the cooling fan and AC blower, so we refer the car to a Chevrolet dealer for that work.

Chevrolet AC failure in Dubai links to 6 causes. Of these, 4 sit in the refrigerant circuit: leaks, an overloaded condenser, moisture and too much charge. A spent dryer and add-on parts at the front complete the list, while engine-bay heat loads the condenser and the hose seals.
Dubai's hottest day from 1991 to 2020 reached 48.8 °C, in August. In shaded parking in Al Ain, car cabins averaged 41.8 °C against 37.4 °C outside. We trace which of these causes is at work and repair that one.

The refrigerant in a Chevrolet AC depends on the model. On the 2024 Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado 1500, Silverado HD and Traverse, Chevrolet gives the type and charge on a label under the bonnet. The 2026 Groove takes HFC-134a, with a charge of 510 g or 570 g by version, each within 20 g.
We read that label, or the Groove figure, before connecting anything. Each refrigerant has its own service fittings, so our station matches the gas the car carries.
Our technicians take each Chevrolet through these steps:
We look over the grille and condenser for damage and debris, then the drive belt, compressor, hoses and joints for oil traces. On a Tahoe, Silverado or Traverse, the solar sensor on top of the dashboard feeds the automatic climate control, so anything covering it comes off. Damaged parts are replaced.
A scan tool reads stored codes and live values from the climate control and engine modules. A stored code leads to a sensor, a motor or a circuit, and we repair that part.
Both pressures are recorded with the engine off, then with it running at maximum cooling and full fan. Beside each reading go the centre vent temperature, the outside temperature and the humidity, for comparison with the maker's chart. A reading off that chart sends the car to the leak search or the part replacement.
An electronic leak detector runs along every hose, joint and component before any refrigerant goes back in. We replace the leaking hose, seal or part instead of masking the loss with a top-up.
A failed compressor, condenser, hose or evaporator makes way for a new one. After a compressor failure, the circuit is flushed, and parts a flush cannot clean, such as the expansion valve, are renewed.
The vacuum pump pulls air and moisture from the circuit, and the vacuum must hold before charging starts. The refrigerant then goes in by weight to the figure for the car, and the step 3 readings are taken again.

The price of Chevrolet AC work in Dubai turns on where the leak sits, the part that failed, any flush and the charge size. An evaporator leak behind the dashboard takes longer to find and reach than a leak at an engine-bay hose. We price the job from the test results.

A Chevrolet AC in Dubai lasts longer with 4 habits from Chevrolet's advice: an AC check at each service and a desiccant renewal on time. An aired cabin before switch-on and an earlier filter change in dust complete them. We carry out the check, the renewal and the filter change.
In the UAE, Chevrolet includes an AC function check in every service of a 2021 to 2025 Tahoe, due each 10,000 km or 12 months.
A 2024 Tahoe or Suburban takes new AC desiccant every 84 months. The renewal keeps the system efficient and extends its life.
From a hot car park, Chevrolet advises opening all the windows for a 2 to 3 minute airing before the AC goes on. On a Groove, its fast cooling routine is windows slightly open, AC on, recirculation, face vents, coldest setting and top fan speed.
On a Tahoe or Suburban, Chevrolet brings the passenger compartment air filter change forward for heavy traffic, poor air quality and high dust.

No. A sealed Chevrolet AC keeps its refrigerant, so lost gas means a leak. A top-up alone lets more compressor oil leave through the same leak. Our technician repairs the leak, then charges the circuit.
Yes. A Tahoe, Suburban, Silverado or Traverse with the afterblow feature can keep its fan on after it is turned off and locked. The fan can also switch on and off. Chevrolet calls this normal, so it is no sign of an AC fault.
Yes. The Groove's AC compressor draws engine power while it runs, so the car can feel slower with the AC cooling. Chevrolet names the compressor as the reason for that drop. When the loss comes with weak cooling, we test the AC and repair the fault we find.
