Worn or faulty Brabus brakes show 4 signs: a wear warning lit on the instrument cluster, and 3 that the driver hears or feels. The driver hears a squeal, feels a judder through the pedal or senses the car pulling to one side. Our technicians follow each sign back to the faulty part and repair it.
A contact embedded in the pad closes a circuit once the friction material reaches its wear limit. The design of the brake system sets the count at 2 or 4 contacts. Our gauge reads the friction left in both callipers of the axle, and a worn set gives way to new pads.
On a Brabus 800 Superblack, built on the AMG G 63 (W 465), the driver hears a squeal from the service brake. We drive the car to find the axle and side making the noise, then treat the pads on that axle.
Disc thickness that varies around the ring kicks the pads back each revolution, and the driver feels the pulse in the pedal. Depending on the vehicle type, 0.015 mm of variation is enough to set it off. We confirm the variation with a micrometer, then replace the failing discs.
A seized calliper, a misaligned or contaminated pad, or parts that do not match leave one side of the axle braking harder. Our technicians find the dragging wheel, release or replace its calliper, and fit matching pads across the axle.

Brabus brake service in Dubai turns on one question: whether the car stops on steel or carbon-ceramic discs. The answer changes from one Brabus model to the next, as the cars below show. Steel brakes stay in our workshop, and carbon-ceramic work goes to Brabus or to the Mercedes-Benz dealer.
The 1 of 25 Brabus 900 Rocket Edition is built on the AMG GLE 63 S 4MATIC+ Coupé. The Coupé's 2020 launch brought 6-piston fixed front callipers on 400 x 38 mm discs, with single-piston floating rear ones on 370 x 32 mm. Its S model wears red callipers, and bronze callipers mark the optional ceramic system.
The Brabus 930 uses the AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE, whose standard discs are ventilated and perforated. Front discs measure 400 x 38 mm and rear discs 380 x 32 mm, and an electric parking brake is fitted.
The Brabus 1000 is a 2+2 on the AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE, whose 2024 two-door version has carbon-ceramic brakes as standard. Its bronze callipers grip 420 x 40 mm front discs and 380 x 32 mm rear discs. Where a Brabus 1000 has carbon-ceramic brakes, its pads and discs are a job for a Mercedes-Benz dealer or for Brabus.
Brabus fits the BODO with carbon-ceramic discs, gripped by 6-piston fixed callipers at the front and 4-piston ones at the rear. The CRAWLER stops on perforated steel discs of 400 mm and 370 mm, front and rear, and has an electric parking brake. Both are cars Brabus builds itself, so their brake work goes to Brabus.
The AMG base car of a Brabus squeals from frictional vibrations in the service brake. Mercedes designs AMG brakes for high loads, and the noise varies with speed, brake pressure, air temperature and humidity. Its documented remedy applies to all AMG model designations, steel-braked or ceramic-braked, and treats the front and rear axles differently.
The first checks look for worn parts, mechanical damage or local heat damage, and a damaged part is replaced. With the engine running, the pedal is pressed 3 to 4 times. A wheel that then fails to turn freely by hand is put right first.
On the noisy axle, the piston-side pad gets adhesive film where the pistons press, except where the pad has a metal backing plate. On a 6-piston front calliper, the film sits behind the centre piston alone. After the front pads go in, the brake is held on for 30 seconds.
Rear pads also get heat-resistant paste on their guide contact areas, and never between pad and disc. Every treated pad gets chamfered edges, and the pads bed in over 15 stops at roughly 30 bar, each followed by a cooling run. We apply this fix on steel AMG brakes.
A Brabus brake job moves through our workshop in this order.
We note the Mercedes series code and look at the discs on each axle to tell steel from carbon-ceramic.
A drive on the road reproduces the noise or judder, and a check of the suspension clears it as a cause. We then pull the stored brake faults and put each one right.
Our gauge reads each disc's thickness at 4 spots or more, and the thinnest reading decides. We compare it with the MIN TH value stamped on the disc, its wear limit in millimetres.
On a base car fitted with an electric parking brake, a diagnostic tool winds the rear pistons back. Forcing them back by hand ruins the pressure nut or the spindle. With the new pads fitted, the same tool calibrates the system.
We clear rust and deposits from the hub face, since a rust speck 0.05 mm across tilts the disc. Runout on the new disc is held to 0.10 mm or less over one revolution. As the pistons go back for the new pads, our technicians watch the reservoir level rise.
Any opened circuit is bled, and the pedal is worked until its travel feels right before the fluid level is corrected. During the last drive the braking stays gentle, and the pedal is never stabbed or held down beyond 3 seconds.

Mercedes tells technicians to look for a document on the model series before its general AMG noise steps. We search for that document first, and its remedy sets the repair.
A UAE recall of January 2022 covered 6 S-Class (223) cars of 2022 manufacture, as their front calliper mounting screws risked missing specification. A 2023 Saudi recall covered 2,106 G-Class cars, models 2018 to 2022, where a front axle harness fixing fault can stop ABS and ESP. Our team checks the base car against notices like these, and a listed car leaves us for a Mercedes-Benz dealer.
On each job, the brake fluid gets a boiling-point reading. Fluid with a boiling point under 180 °C comes out, and new fluid goes in.
Our technicians keep grease, oil and cleaners off the friction surfaces, and renew any pad or disc they reach.
Wheel bolts are torqued with a torque wrench, one after another in the set sequence, to the value the car maker sets.
Brake heat robs pad springs and clips of their tension. Each new pad set gets new springs from us, and old shims stay off the car.
Brabus brakes last longer in Dubai when owners keep 4 habits: the fluid schedule, bedding-in, washing after hard use and moving a parked car. Each habit guards the fluid or the friction faces of the base car. Our technicians inspect brake fluid, pads and discs at every Brabus service.
Water enters brake fluid over time and lowers its boiling point. Change it at the interval the base car's service schedule sets.
Use the bedding-in steps from the car maker for new pads and discs. Where none exist, brake gently through the first 200 km at least, hold no stop past 3 seconds and keep the ABS from cutting in.
For AMG brakes, Mercedes advises a wash straight after heavy use, with cleaning agents it recommends.
Roll a Brabus that stands for long spells a little way forwards and back, about once a week. Gentle braking during the roll wipes the rust off the discs.

Yes. Steel brakes on the Mercedes-AMG or Maybach base car are renewed in our Dubai Investment Park 2 workshop. Carbon-ceramic systems go to Brabus or the Mercedes-Benz dealer, which also takes recall repairs and Mercedes software updates.
A disc is replaced once it reaches its stamped minimum or shows deep scoring, cracks or blue heat spots. Both discs on that axle are then renewed together, always with new pads. A disc above its minimum with a clean surface takes new pads alone.
Over its whole service life, a carbon-ceramic disc sheds roughly 1.25 per cent in mass. That wear is measured on a scale, with the disc off the car, or by a purpose-built instrument. On a Brabus, that check is a job for the Mercedes-Benz dealer or for Brabus.
Yes. The 2024 two-door AMG GT 63 S E PERFORMANCE offers 4 recuperation levels, the highest allowing one-pedal driving with over 100 kW fed back. Depending on the level and the traffic, the wheel brakes are spared or not applied at all.
