A body that keeps moving after a bump
Sound dampers let the suspension settle within 1 or 2 fading cycles. A worn damper lets the body bounce on until the energy runs out, and the tyre can lift off the road surface. We fit new dampers to stop it.

The work we carry out on Rolls Royce models at our Dubai Investment Park workshop. Open the full details below.
A worn Rolls-Royce suspension shows 6 signs. They are a body that keeps moving, a clunk, an oily damper, a car that sits unevenly, slow height changes and cupped tyres. The level and height signs belong to air-sprung models such as the Cullinan and Ghost Series II, and each card names our repair.
Sound dampers let the suspension settle within 1 or 2 fading cycles. A worn damper lets the body bounce on until the energy runs out, and the tyre can lift off the road surface. We fit new dampers to stop it.
A worn ball joint bangs as the load on it reverses, and the steering can feel loose or stiff. Our fix is a new joint, or the complete arm where the joint is part of it.
Oily residue on a damper means its seals have broken and it is losing fluid. A leaking damper can need replacing, and we fit a new one where it does.
An air-sprung Rolls-Royce that no longer sits level when parked has a fault in its air system. We replace the strut, line or valve that has failed.
On a Cullinan or Ghost Series II, a failing compressor takes longer to raise the car, or it cannot raise the car at all. A burning smell, melted air lines or discoloured labels show it has overheated. We replace the burnt compressor.
A tyre that bounces on a worn damper scrubs patches into its tread, leaving a cupped pattern. The fix starts at the dampers, which we replace before new tyres go on.
Each Rolls-Royce suspension job draws on this list:
We carry out these jobs across the Rolls-Royce range, and the inspection decides which of them a car needs.
Six causes lie behind Rolls-Royce suspension failure in Dubai. They are damper wear, cracked air spring rubber, damp air, a compressor burned out by a leak, damper oil on the bellows and worn bushes. The 4 air causes belong to air-sprung models.
Dubai International Airport's highest daily maximum for 1991 to 2020 is 48.8 °C, recorded in August. An uncoated road surface reaches about 60 °C in summer. Heat of that order thins damper oil, which speeds up the damper wear above.
For Rolls-Royce suspension repair in Dubai, we pin each symptom on its cause and renew the failed part.
Our repair returns these results to a Rolls-Royce suspension:
One worn shock absorber can add up to 2 metres to a stop from 50 km/h. A matched pair of new dampers takes those metres off again.
A tyre held firmly on the road by good dampers wears flat instead of cupped. Correct toe after the repair also ends the feathered wear along the tread edges.
A Cullinan with healthy self-levelling air suspension delivers the Magic Carpet Ride Rolls-Royce engineered for it, on road and off road.
A Cullinan whose air suspension works lowers itself by 40 mm, so passengers step in without effort.
On a Cullinan, the damper control system uses air pressure to push down any wheel it detects losing traction. Working air struts keep that function available off road.
A new ball joint removes the loose or stiff feel that a worn joint gives the steering. Steering input then reaches the front wheels with no slack.
Planar suspension and all-wheel steering add parts that a conventional suspension does not have. On the Ghost launched in 2020, Planar places an Upper Wishbone Damper above the front suspension and adds Flagbearer cameras that read the road. On the Ghost, all-wheel steering turns the rear wheels as well.
Flagbearer prepares the Ghost's suspension for the road surface ahead at up to 100 km/h. Ghost Series II pairs continuously variable electronic dampers with self-levelling, high-volume air struts at the front and on its 5-link rear axle. Black Badge Ghost Series II uses its own Black Badge version of Planar.
Spectre's Planar system has no upper wishbone damper, and on straight roads it can decouple the anti-roll bars. The Cullinan pairs a double-wishbone front axle and a 5-link rear axle with four-wheel steering.
We order each damper, air strut and arm by the car's chassis number, then fit the part that matches its build.
Our Rolls-Royce suspension work follows this order:
The drive checks for squat under acceleration and roll in sharp turns, plus any knock over uneven ground.
Diagnostic software reads the trouble codes that the air suspension and damper control units have stored.
We look for oil on every damper and cracks in every boot and bush. A ball joint must show no play, first with the wheel raised, then against a pry bar.
Soapy water over the air struts, lines, fittings and valve block shows where air escapes. That includes the unfolding edge of each air spring, hidden at normal height. We then replace the leaking strut, line or fitting.
Dampers go in as a matched axle pair. Any joint, arm, bush or link that failed the inspection is renewed at the same time.
With the new parts in, we bring camber and toe back inside Rolls-Royce's figures. A second drive over the same route proves the knock or bounce has gone.

The cost of Rolls-Royce suspension repair in Dubai comes from 3 factors. They are the part that failed, the type of strut it involves and the suspension set-up. A clunk or a sinking corner has more than 1 possible source, so the price follows what the inspection finds.
A worn bush can mean a new bush alone or a complete arm. A clunk can come from a link or from a ball joint, and we price the part we find.
A leak at a line or fitting needs that part, while a cracked bellows calls for a new air strut. A damaged compressor adds a compressor and its relay.
Black Badge versions of the Wraith and Ghost have their own air-suspension set-up, and the Black Badge Cullinan has changed suspension parts and settings. The parts list follows the version on the car.
These practices shape our Rolls-Royce suspension work:
We use the car's jack mode, release the air pressure and disconnect the compressor's power before an air line opens. A depressurised car is never lowered fully on the lift, so its air springs do not fold wrongly.
A new relay accompanies each air suspension compressor we install, because an old or sticky relay can keep it running until it fails.
Both air springs on an axle are renewed together, which keeps the left and right sides matched.
Pivot bolts passing through rubber bushes get their final torque with the arm raised to ride height, so the rubber sits untwisted.
A self-locking nut or bolt holds properly for one fitting. Each one we undo goes in the bin, and a new one takes its place.
A hand tool brings each damper's piston rod nut to its locking torque. An impact wrench never touches that nut.
We repair the suspension of each Rolls-Royce line below:
Four owner habits extend the life of Rolls-Royce suspension in Dubai. They are damper checks at each service, care over potholes, loads within the limit and a check before the RTA test. We carry out the check or repair that each habit calls for.
Stopping, steering and stability depend on the tyres, brakes and dampers working together. We add a damper check to every service we carry out, and replace a damper that fails it.
Driving with care over potholes and rough roads cuts damper wear. After a hard pothole strike, we replace any arm, joint or damper the impact has damaged.
Overloading the car adds to damper wear, so luggage stays within the stated load. We replace the dampers that overloading has worn out.
The RTA periodic test checks the steering and tyres. We inspect those parts before the test date and replace what has worn.

The Cullinan has self-levelling air suspension with larger air struts. Ghost Series II has self-levelling, high-volume air struts at the front and on its 5-link rear axle. We repair the air struts, dampers and compressors on both.
No. Our workshop in Dubai Investment Park 2 replaces dampers, air struts, compressors, arms, joints and bushes on Rolls-Royce models.
Yes. Dampers go in as a pair on an axle. A worn damper is replaced with its opposite number on the same axle, and we fit both together.
Yes. An alignment belongs after every steering or suspension part we fit, even one with no adjustment of its own. Skipping it lets camber and toe drift past the maker's limits, so the car can pull and its tyres wear out early.
