A scraping noise from the front of an Emira
On an Emira, movement where the front road springs meet their damper spring seats can cause a scraping noise on the move. The rubbing leaves witness marks on the lower seat. Lotus's fix is a lower spring seat isolator, and we fit one under each front spring.

A torn ball joint cover on an Emira
On any Emira, a rough edge on the steering knuckle can touch the lower wishbone ball joint dust cover at full suspension and steering travel. The cover then wears or tears early. While the joint is still sound, we smooth the edge, protect it against corrosion, repack the joint with fresh grease and fit a new cover.

A body that keeps moving after bumps
Healthy dampers calm a bump in 1 or 2 movements, each smaller than the last. Tired dampers let the car keep oscillating until the bump energy is spent, and the tyres can lose road contact. We fit new dampers to end the bounce.

Clunks over bumps and in corners
A clunk in corners or over uneven ground comes from a worn ball joint or track rod end. The same wear can make the steering feel loose or stiff. We replace the joint that has worn.

Oil on a damper body
A damper coated in oil has broken seals and is losing fluid. With less fluid, the damper controls the spring less. Our fix for a leaking damper is a new damper.

Uneven tread wear on an Emira
Lotus says uneven tread wear on an Emira can point to the suspension geometry or the dampers. Cupped tread follows worn dampers, and feathered edges follow wrong toe and worn front bushes. We replace the dampers or bushes behind the pattern.
