A worn Aston Martin suspension shows 6 signs, 2 of them as warnings: the suspension fault warning and the suspension failure warning on a DBX. Oil on a damper and a loud click at pull-away on a DB11 V8 are 2 more. The last 2 are steering vibration on rough DBX roads and a body that keeps bouncing.
On a 24MY DB12 or a 25MY Vantage, the suspension fault warning lights when the adaptive suspension system finds a fault. We trace the fault to the damper, its sensor or its wiring and replace the failed part.
A 21MY DBX shows its suspension failure warning for a fault anywhere in the suspension system. Air suspension of this kind runs on a compressor, valves, height sensors and a control module. We find the part that failed and replace it.
Oil on a damper of a DB11, 19MY Vantage, DBS Superleggera or DBX is not proof of a leak. Aston Martin uses a build oil in damper manufacture that can look like leakage, and DBX dampers carry a wax coating that looks like oil. A damper that still leaks after our check gets replaced.
A DB11 V8 can click loudly when the driver shifts between drive and reverse and then accelerates. Movement between the driveshaft and the hub bearing's mating faces causes the noise. The fix puts anti-fret paste on those faces with a hub holding tool, so we confirm the noise and refer it to a dealer.
A DBX can send vibration through the steering on rough road surfaces. Aston Martin's fix is a software update for the Electronic Power Steering module. We replace any worn joint or mount we find, and an Aston Martin dealer loads the update.
After a bump, sound dampers settle the body in 1 or 2 fading movements. An Aston Martin that goes on bouncing has worn dampers, and its tyres can lose contact with the road. New dampers end the bounce, and we fit them.

Aston Martin suspension failure in Dubai has 6 causes. Heat and stone chips wear out the dampers, while age and damper oil wear out DBX air springs. A defect hits the DBX rear lower arm, and rust and stone impacts break coil springs.

On a 24MY DB12, working ADS sensors read body movement and the driver's steering, braking and throttle. The system then sets the damping to suit each road and each input.
A DBX with sound air springs raises its body by 45 mm or lowers it by 50 mm. The raised setting clears rough tracks, and the lowered one eases getting in and out.
A 21MY DBX in Sport mode with healthy eARC stiffens its roll control for greater stability at higher speeds.
The 24MY DB12 front suspension uses double aluminium wishbones with anti-dive geometry. With sound bushes and dampers, that geometry keeps the nose flatter when you brake hard.
Each worn damper can add up to 2 m to the roughly 30 m stopping distance of a light passenger car at 50 km/h. New dampers recover that margin.
On a worn damper, a tyre hops over bumps and wears into scalloped cups. Fresh dampers keep the tread wearing flat across its width.
Air suspension changes the job on an Aston Martin DBX because 3 systems share the work. Triple-volume air springs carry and level the body, and adaptive dampers control its movement. The 21MY DBX adds 48 V electronic Active Roll Control (eARC) at both axles, run from a 48 V lithium-ion battery under the boot floor.
Each drive mode on a 21MY DBX sets its own calibration for the suspension and the roll control. In Terrain mode, the roll control allows more wheel movement at low speed, so the wheels keep contact on loose ground.
We charge the air system, spray soapy water over each air spring, line, fitting and valve block, then replace the leaking part. The spray also covers the rolling edge of each spring, which stays hidden at normal height.
Every new compressor gets a new relay from us. A DBX with empty air springs never goes fully down onto our lift arms.
Adaptive dampers change suspension work on a DB12, DB11 or Vantage because each damper belongs to a control system. The Adaptive Damping System (ADS) sets the damping from sensor data. The 24MY DB12, 21MY DB11 and 21MY Vantage carry coil-over aluminium monotube dampers at both axles.
On the 24MY DB12 and 21MY DB11, ADS offers GT, Sport and Sport+, and it returns to GT at each ignition on. The 25MY Vantage offers Sport, Sport+ and Track, and the 2024 Vanquish carries the damper technology first seen on the DB12.
We fit the damper specified for that exact car, such as a 21MY DB11 or a 24MY DB12. We then cycle through each ADS mode to confirm the damping changes.
We work through these steps on every Aston Martin suspension job.
We drive over speed bumps and through bends to feel bounce, dive, roll, knocks and clicks. A DBX also goes through its drive modes and heights.
We read the stored faults in the ADS, air suspension, eARC and steering control units with diagnostic software. The stored faults point the repair to the failed part.
Each damper, bush, boot and spring gets a check for oil, cracks and damage. We raise each wheel and rock it to find play in the ball joints and tie-rod ends, then repeat the test with a pry bar. A joint that moves gets replaced in the repair step.
On a coil-over Aston Martin, we measure each corner against the maker's height figure. A spring that has sagged below it changes the alignment geometry, so we replace it.
We fit each new damper, spring, arm, bush, joint or air part the inspection has called for, matched to the model.
We set camber and toe to Aston Martin's current figures for the model. A second road test then confirms the noise or warning has gone.

We clean a damper that shows oil, road test the car, then examine the damper again. A damper leaves the car when oil returns after those steps.
For a DB11, 19MY Vantage, DBS Superleggera or DBX, Aston Martin sets a mileage and age limit for a failed damper. Below it we replace the failed damper alone, and above it both dampers on that axle.
We never lift an Aston Martin by its suspension arms. A 21MY DBX goes into Terrain+ before its wheels leave the ground.
Each piston rod nut goes on by hand to its locking torque, because an impact tool can strip the threads.
A self-locking nut or bolt holds once, so we replace each one we undo on an Aston Martin.
Bolts through a rubber bush get their final torque with the arm set at ride height, on every arm we fit.

Aston Martin has the suspension and steering of a 24MY DB12 or 21MY DB11 examined for leaks and wear at each scheduled service. We carry out that examination at the services we do.
Aston Martin warns against strapping a DB12, DB11 or DBX to a transporter by its suspension control arms. We check the arms of a car that travelled strapped that way and replace any bent one.
On a 21MY DBX, repeated use of access mode in a short spell can stop the system working until it has pressurised again. We leak-test a DBX that stays low after that pause and repair the fault we find.
On a 21MY DBX, Terrain+ adds height but cuts wheel travel by the same amount. In extreme conditions, that can cost ride comfort and traction. Aston Martin advises Terrain for most low-grip driving, and we repair a DBX that fails to switch between the two.

Yes. Any new steering or suspension part justifies an alignment, even a part that cannot be adjusted. Without one, camber and toe can drift past the maker's limits, which can make the car pull and wear its tyres early.
Yes. A 48 V lithium-ion battery powers the eARC anti-roll system of the DBX, and it charges from the 12 V system. The 48 V battery must never give or take a jump start. We test the 12 V battery of a DBX with an eARC fault and replace a failed one.
A 21MY DBX changes height by design. Sport mode lowers the body, Terrain and Terrain+ raise it and drop back at speed, and the car lowers further at sustained high speed. A DBX that sits low at rest has a fault, and we repair the leak or part behind it.
The DBX and DBX707 run on air springs, and the DBX707 gained a new calibration for its air springs and dampers in 2024. The 24MY DB12 and 25MY Vantage use coil-over dampers. Our work on a DBX covers its air springs, valve blocks and compressor.
