A Cadillac gives 5 oil signs on its display, its gauges and its dipstick. They are low oil life, a change message that returns, a low oil message, a hot oil gauge and a high dipstick. Each card names the sign, what it means and the work we then do.
On a 2026 Escalade, the Oil Life reading counts down from full after each change. A low reading brings up CHANGE ENGINE OIL SOON, and Cadillac wants the oil changed as soon as possible. We drain it, fit a new filter and set the reading back to full.
The same message at start-up, or a reading near zero just after a change, means the last reset failed. The oil is fresh, but the system never began a new count. Our technicians run the reset again and confirm the message stays off at the next start.
Cadillac asks for a dipstick check when a 2026 Escalade, 2025 CT5 or 2019 CTS shows a low oil message. We add the listed oil until the level sits in range, then trace any leak and repair it.
On a 2025 CT5, a pointer at the high end of the oil temperature gauge means the oil has overheated. We test the cooling system and repair its fault, then drain the overheated oil and refill.
On a 2026 Escalade, Cadillac treats a level above the cross-hatched area as harmful to the engine and asks for the excess to come out. On a car driven mostly on runs under 8 km, unburnt fuel and condensation can stay in the oil and push the reading up. We drain the excess or change the diluted oil, then read the level again.

Cadillac engine oil wears faster in Dubai from 6 causes: heat, long idling, dust, short runs, hard driving and a blocked crankcase vent. On a 2025 CT5, the oil life system works from engine revolutions, engine temperature and distance. Heat and idling therefore shorten its countdown, while the other 4 call for a hands-on check.
Even after dark, Dubai stays hot: the mean August low at the city's airport is 31.5 °C. Rising sand, logged there between 1981 and 2010, averaged 17.7 days annually. Our check at each visit reads the oil life and the dipstick together, and the oil is changed when either calls for it.

dexos1 Gen 3 oils are made to improve protection against low-speed pre-ignition, a fault that can damage newer engines.
A new filter holds back soot and dust, the particles that scratch whatever surface the oil reaches.
Cadillac states that its listed dexos oils are all the engine needs for good performance and protection, so the driver buys no additive.
The 2019 CT6 2.0 litre turbo runs on SAE 0W-20. A low-viscosity oil of this grade reduces friction between moving parts.

A Cadillac needs an oil from the GM dexos family and the SAE grade listed for its engine. The L87 V8 and the LSY, LGY and LGX engines take full synthetic dexos1. The supercharged 6.2 litre LT4 in the 2026 Escalade-V and the 2025 CT5-V Blackwing takes full synthetic dexosR SAE 0W-40.
The 2019 CTS-V's LT4 and the 2019 CT6's 4.2 litre twin turbo V8 take dexos2 SAE 0W-40 instead. On the CTS-V, Cadillac allows SAE 5W-30 dexos1 for street use when dexos2 0W-40 is unavailable.
The 2019 ATS and XTS take SAE 5W-30 dexos1, and the 2023 XT4 takes SAE 0W-20. We match the family and the grade to the engine code before a bottle is opened.
A 2026 Escalade or 2025 CT5 is due an oil change when its oil life system asks, and every 12 months at the latest. In ideal conditions, the system goes up to 12 months without asking, so the time limit decides. After an accidental reset, Cadillac sets the change at 5,000 km from the last one.
An accidental reset leaves the countdown starting from oil that is already part used. We check the km and date of the last change against the reading before we trust it.
Each Cadillac oil change runs through the steps below, in this order.
We write down the Oil Life figure and read the stored codes. A stored oil pressure or oil temperature code is traced, and its fault repaired.
We wipe round the filler neck and the drain plug before either one opens, so sand cannot drop into the engine.
With the old oil out, the used filter comes off and its replacement goes on. A fresh sealing ring goes onto the drain plug before it is refitted.
We pour in the capacity Cadillac lists for the engine. Cadillac calls each figure approximate and asks for a fresh level check after filling.
We let the oil drain back for the time Cadillac sets, then wipe the dipstick, push it fully home and read it. We also confirm that the dipstick tube sits fully in the block.
A 2025 CT5 resets through Vehicle Status, then Fluids and Filters, then Oil Life. The 2019 CTS, ATS and XTS reset by holding SEL, or by pressing the accelerator fully 3 times within 5 seconds. Last comes a look for seepage at the plug and filter with the engine running.

The cost of a Cadillac oil change in Dubai is set by oil capacity, dexos family, filter and any fault uncovered. Capacity changes even within one engine. The 2019 CTS 2.0 litre LTG holds 4.7 litres with rear-wheel drive and 5.7 litres with all-wheel drive.
The 2019 CTS-V's 6.2 litre V8 takes 9.5 litres, more than twice the rear-wheel drive LTG's fill. We build each quote from the engine and drive fitted: oil and filter, then any repair found.

Cadillac warns that an engine oil flush can damage the engine. We never flush one, and nothing goes into the oil beyond the listed product.
A 2025 CT5-V Blackwing used on track gets its oil changed by us after 9 h of total track time. The oil life running out first brings the change forward.
For a Cadillac that takes oil between services, we top the level to the full mark and log the km. A second reading after 3,200 km gives the rate.
A 2025 CT5 with a variable oil pump shows pressure that moves quickly with speed and load, and Cadillac calls that normal. We judge a reading against the level and the load before any repair.

The 2019 ATS-V's 3.6 litre LF4 twin turbo holds 6.6 litres, against 5.7 litres for the rear-wheel drive ATS 3.6 with its oil cooler. The 2019 XTS splits the same way: 6.6 litres for the LF3 and 5.7 litres for the LFX.
Cadillac owners keep engine oil in good order between changes through 4 habits. They check the level on a set distance, read the dipstick cold, top up in small steps and leave the Oil Life reset alone. We handle the change itself and repair any loss the checks reveal.
On a 2026 Escalade, Cadillac sets a level check every 650 km and before any long trip. Note the km at each top-up and bring that record to us.
The truest reading comes on level ground from a cold engine before its first start. A warm engine stands at least 15 min first, and one that is not warm stands 30 min.
Below the cross-hatched area, add 1 litre of the listed oil and read the dipstick again. Stop when the oil reaches the cross-hatched band.
Cadillac warns that an Oil Life reset at any moment other than right after a change cannot be corrected until the next change.

Yes. dexos1 Gen 3 replaced Gen 2, and Gen 3 oils are backward compatible with engines that called for Gen 2. We fill a current Gen 3 oil in the grade the engine lists.
Yes. On the 2025 CT5, oil use can run higher over the first 2,414 km, so Cadillac asks for an oil check at every refuelling. GM does not test oil use before 6,400 km, while the engine beds in.
