Cadillac engine trouble shows in 6 signs: a cold-start tick, heavy knocking on 95 RON petrol and a misfire with code P0300. Oil at the front of a 2.0 litre LSY, an overheat message and an oil pressure light with a full sump are the other 3. Each card below ends with our repair.
GM links a cold ticking noise on Escalade V8s (L83, L86, L87) and the CTS LT4 to a lifter low on oil at start-up. The tick is loudest on the morning's first cold start. Our test isolates the cylinder, and we then fit new lifters on its bank.
On the L86 and LT4 V8s of the Escalade and CTS-V, GM links a misfire, a tick and code P0300 to a failed AFM lifter. The lifter can collapse or stick in its bore, and a push rod can bend. We inspect the camshaft lobes and lifter rollers, and a worn camshaft is replaced together with its lifters.
GM has acknowledged an oil leak on LSY 2.0 litre engines in the CT4, CT5, CT6, XT4, XT5 and XT6. The oil can look as if it comes from the camshaft carrier, front cover, lower oil pan or upper timing chain cover.
We clean the front of the engine, add dye and trace powder, and run it until the leak shows. Where the dye marks the cam carrier T-joint, we reseal the cam carrier.
A 2026 Escalade warns of heat with a gauge, a warning light and 3 messages. They read ENGINE OVERHEATED STOP ENGINE, ENGINE OVERHEATED IDLE ENGINE and ENGINE POWER IS REDUCED. Either overheat message with low coolant can signal a serious problem, so we trace where the coolant went and renew that part.
On a 2026 Escalade, a lit oil pressure light while the engine runs can mean the oil pressure is not adequate. A full sump rules out a low level and leaves an oil system problem. We measure the oil pressure and repair the oil system part at fault.
Cadillac states that heavy knocking on 95 RON petrol means the engine needs service, on the 2026 Escalade and on the 2025 CT5. Our technicians test the ignition, the fuel mixture and the engine temperature, then renew whichever part fails.

GM and Cadillac name 6 causes behind Cadillac engine failure in Dubai, and 2 start inside the engine: aerated oil and misapplied sealant. Plain water, a wrong coolant fill, metal fuel additives and heat come from use or from service. Our fix for each one closes its bullet.

Renewal of a Dubai registration takes a periodic test of exhaust emissions, and a 2026 Escalade showing its engine light can fail an emissions inspection. Clearing the fault puts the light out before that test.
Cadillac engine noises that GM calls normal include a chirp, squeak or sputter from an Escalade 6.2 litre L87. The injector tick and cam tick of a 2.0 litre LSY are normal too. A balance shaft chain noise on the LSY is not normal.
On an L87 Escalade, the chirp comes when the engine retards its spark timing. That happens for about 30 seconds while the catalyst warms up, and for a moment as Stop/Start restarts the engine. GM states the noise does no harm and rules out repairs for it.
The LSY injector tick is higher pitched and loudest at idle on the intake side. Balance shaft chain noise sounds like a random rattle near the wheel well, worst at idle and easing as revs rise. GM's fix for that is a new engine, and we pass such a car to a Cadillac dealer.
A Cadillac cooling system is filled by the method that Cadillac sets for each engine. On a 2025 CT5, 2023 XT4 or 2023 XT5, the 2.0 litre LSY has an automatic coolant service fill that purges air. A CT5 V6 or V8 is filled by hand with the cap off, then topped up and rechecked cold.
That LSY fill starts with a cold system and a battery charger connected. With the air conditioning off and the parking brake set, both pedals are pressed together for 2 seconds. We then top up the surge tank and repeat the cycle once the engine control module sleeps.
The CT5 3.0 litre V6 and the LT4 of a 2026 Escalade each carry a second coolant circuit. The V6 holds 3.1 litres in its intercoolers, and the LT4 5.3 litres in its low-temperature system. We fill and bleed each of these circuits on its own.

The display message and the engine code are written down first. The fault's conditions follow: cold, hot, idling or under load.
A scan tool reads every stored code with the freeze-frame data beside it. The part those readings confirm is the part we change.
For a V8 tick, the car rests overnight and is started cold. We drive it through its fuel management modes, check for misfire codes and run a cylinder deactivation test. A bent pushrod or a collapsed lifter on that cylinder then decides the repair.
The engine circuit, plus the second circuit on a CT5 V6 or an LT4, goes under pressure. Any drop proves a leak, and the hose, pump or radiator behind it is renewed.
Readings from every cylinder single out a weak one. Next, a leak-down test shows bubbles in the coolant when air gets past the head gasket, and that gasket is then replaced.
The car is road-tested again in the same conditions as the fault. A final scan of the modules shows no code coming back.

Cadillac engine repair in Dubai is costed by which engine is fitted, which part failed, its linked parts and how far damage spread. GM lists a lifter job on an Escalade V8 as one side or both sides, and the side count changes the work. Testing the car shows which of these apply.
