Volvo major and minor service
A scheduled Volvo service works through the checks and replacements set for its distance and age. We swap out each worn part the checks reveal.
Expert care for the XC90, XC60 and S90. OEM parts, and up to 35% off on repairs.

Tell us what the car needs and how to reach you. A service advisor will call you back to talk through the work.

A scheduled Volvo service works through the checks and replacements set for its distance and age. We swap out each worn part the checks reveal.
We drain the sump, renew the oil filter and match the new oil's grade and amount to that car's manual. A 2018 XC90 takes 0W-20 oil to Volvo's VCC RBS0-2AE standard: about 5.6 litres in the T5 petrol and 5.2 litres in the D4 diesel.
We follow oil leaks, misfires and coolant loss on Volvo petrol and diesel engines to their source and renew the faulty component. The XC90 launched in 2014 with 2.0 litre four-cylinder Drive-E engines alone. On a 2022 XC90, the B5 petrol is coded B420T10 and the B5 diesel D420T2.
The XC40 brought Volvo's first three-cylinder engine, coded B3154T9 in the 2022 XC40 T2.
We trace a gearbox leak to its seal or cooler line, repair it and refill with the fluid grade set for the gearbox code. A 2022 XC90 carries the eight-speed AWF8G45 or AWF8G55, both filled with AW-2. The 2018 XC90 manual prescribes AW1 for its automatic gearbox instead.
Both axles get a pad and disc thickness check, and we fit new parts at their wear limit and bleed fresh fluid through the system. ABS faults are read from the fault memory, and the failed sensor or module is replaced.
On the SPA XC90, double wishbones guide the front wheels, and an integral link axle with a transverse leaf spring carries the rear. We replace worn bushes, links and dampers, then align the wheels. Before jacking up a 2027 XC90, we switch its air suspension off.
We find the leak, renew the failed compressor, condenser or pipe, then weigh in the refrigerant charge. A 2018 XC90 runs on R1234yf or R134a, depending on its market. Its R1234yf charge weighs 650 g, rising to 900 g with third-row climate control.
We test the starter battery and fit one of the same size, cold starting capacity and type, as Volvo sets for the 2022 XC90. That XC90 keeps an H7 AGM of 80 Ah or an H8 AGM of 95 Ah in its cargo area. After the battery has been disconnected, we reset the pinch protection.
On a 2027 XC90, the 48 V battery and its box go to a Volvo dealer for any work.
We trace a Volvo electrical fault to the wire, connector or control unit behind it and fix the failure there. A 2027 XC90 holds back start and stop while the driver's seatbelt is unfastened, the bonnet is open or a trailer is connected. Those 3 conditions are ruled out before we test the battery for a start and stop fault.
The Volvo problems with a recall behind them involve the diesel intake manifold, front seat belt cables and exhaust manifold gaskets. Emergency braking, the XC90 A/C drain hose and airbags complete the list. They span the XC90, XC60, XC40, S60, S80 and V40 plus older V70 and XC70 models, and each item gives our next step.
Our Volvo work spans today's UAE range and older saloons, estates and SUVs:
The 2014 XC90 was the first Volvo on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA). In the 2022 range, every 90 and 60 Series model sits on it. The XC40 opened the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA), co-developed within the Geely Group.
In the UAE, the current XC90 is sold as a 7-seat mild hybrid of 249 hp, and the 2026 XC60 and XC40 as mild hybrids. The EX90 is Volvo's first car with lidar and a core computing system.
A Volvo service in Dubai falls due by distance or by time, whichever comes first. In 2022, Volvo's UAE site set the step at 10,000 km or 6 months for a 2015 or earlier Volvo. A 2016 Volvo moved to 15,000 km or 12 months.
On a 2018 XC90, the driver display shows a service message before the next service date and a second one once that date has passed.
We match each car to its own interval band and complete the work listed for that step.
We take each Volvo through 4 steps, starting at the control units and finishing on the road.
Each message on the driver display is noted, and we then read the stored codes in every control unit.
From below, we look for oil, coolant and gearbox fluid seepage, worn bushes and loose exhaust joints.
Live data and a circuit test narrow each code to one part, which we replace along with the service items due.
We then road-test the car and rescan every control unit to confirm the repair holds.
These habits set our Volvo work apart.
On a 2022 XC90, B3 to B6 engines are mild hybrids with a 48 V lithium-ion support battery instead of a 12 V one. So we read the engine designation before any battery or charging work.
Grades, volumes and intervals come from the Volvo manual that matches the car, from the 2018 international edition to the 2027 UAE edition. A 2018 XC90 and a 2022 XC90 each get their own figures.
We check each Volvo against recall notices from the UAE Ministry of Economy and the Qatari ministry. Any car with an open campaign is handed to a Volvo dealer for that work.
Dubai airport's 1991 to 2020 normals show a top of 30 °C or above on each day from June through October. At each Volvo service, we check the radiator, the cooling fans and the AC condenser, and renew whichever one fails the check.
After jump-starting a 2027 XC90, we leave start and stop switched off until the battery has recharged, as Volvo directs.
High-voltage work on Recharge plug-in hybrids and electric Volvos goes to a Volvo dealer. So do driver-assistance calibration, every engine or gearbox rebuild and any task needing Volvo special tools.
Tell us the model and what it is doing, and we book it in at our Dubai Investment Park 2 workshop. Free pickup and drop-off by our driver comes with a service contract. Every service comes with a free car wash.
Regular servicing keeps small faults from turning into big repairs. Both packages are carried out by certified technicians using genuine or quality parts.

The cost of a Volvo service in Dubai follows the service step due, the engine and whichever parts have worn. Volvo's 2022 UAE schedule set 15,000 km for a 2016 Volvo, against 10,000 km for a 2015 or earlier car. We replace the worn parts that the inspection finds.
Yes. The 2018 XC90 manual calls for an AGM battery whenever the starter or support battery is replaced. A 2022 XC40 differs, with an H6 EFB starter battery of 70 Ah in the engine compartment. We fit the battery type listed for each car.
No. In normal driving, the 2022 XC90 manual sets no fluid change for the service life of the gearbox. Adverse driving conditions can call for one. We check the gearbox for leaks at each service and change the fluid when those conditions apply.
Yes. We service the brakes, tyres and suspension of Recharge plug-in hybrids and of the EX30, EX90 and ES90. The 2022 S60 Recharge adds a 107 kW rear electric drive motor, and the ES90 runs an 800-volt system. Volvo dealers handle their high-voltage parts.
Yes. The SPA XC90 can carry electronically controlled air suspension with 5 modes, and on a 2018 XC90 it lowers the car at higher speeds. We locate the leak or fault in the system and fit a new part where one has failed.
