What We Do for Your Ford

The seven jobs Ford owners book most, each with its own page. Open the full details below for everything else we do on the Ford range.

What it covers

Ford repair in Dubai: our services by system

The cards below take a Ford one system at a time, with the work our technicians carry out on each.

Ford major and minor service

We carry out each item Ford lists for the car's distance and replace the worn parts those checks bring up. Ford Middle East builds a battery check into every interval and checks the brake fluid at each visit. A full brake inspection follows every 24,000 km.

Ford oil services

With the filter renewed, we refill each engine to the grade and Ford specification set for it. The 2023 Explorer's Qatar Arabic manual lists SAE 5W-30 to WSS-M2C961-A1 for the 2.3 litre EcoBoost, at 4.9 litres with the filter. The 3.3 litre hybrid of that Explorer takes SAE 5W-20 to WSS-M2C960-A1.

Ford engine repair

Misfires, knocking and oil or coolant leaks on Ford EcoBoost, V8 and diesel engines are followed back to the part behind them, which we renew. The 2026 Explorer runs a 2.3 litre EcoBoost four of 236 kW or a 3.0 litre EcoBoost V6 of 287 kW. The 2025 Ranger diesel is a 2.0 litre with a single turbo or a bi-turbo.

Ford transmission service and gearbox inspection

Our technicians read the gearbox codes and trace a fluid leak to the seal or cooler line at fault, then replace that part and refill. The 2023 Explorer petrol automatic takes MERCON ULV to WSS-M2C949-A, and its Qatar Arabic manual warns that another fluid can damage the gearbox. Every 2022 F-150 sold in the Middle East has a 10-speed automatic.

Ford brake repair

We replace worn pads and discs, renew a leaking hose or calliper, and bleed the system with fresh fluid. For the 2023 Explorer, the Qatar Arabic manual names brake fluid to WSS-M6C65-A2.

Ford suspension repair and wheel alignment

Worn shock absorbers, bushes and ball joints are renewed, and we then set the wheel and steering alignment. The Ranger Raptor's Live Valve shocks combine passive and semi-active damping and read the ride height 500 times a second. The 2026 Bronco comes with HOSS 1.0 or HOSS 3.0 suspension, and the Bronco Raptor with HOSS 4.0.

Ford AC service and repair

We pinpoint the leak, then renew the compressor, condenser or hose that failed and recharge the system by weight. The 2023 Explorer 2.3 litre holds 0.99 kg of R-1234yf and 160 ml of compressor oil, by its Qatar Arabic manual. The 2023 Bronco 2.3 and 2.7 litre take 0.55 kg under their UAE Arabic manual.

Ford battery replacement and electrical repair

A load test of the battery and a check of the alternator output show which part has failed, and we replace it. A 2023 Explorer with auto start-stop takes a battery of exactly the original specification, mounted in the engine bay. Electrical faults are followed along the circuit to the broken wire, plug or module, which we repair.

Ford hybrid service

On the Territory and Taurus hybrids, we look after the combustion engine, braking, suspension and 12 V battery. The 2026 Territory Hybrid pairs a 1.5 litre engine with a 60 kW motor, a 353 V lithium-ion battery and a 2-speed automatic. A Ford dealer takes the high-voltage battery and motor work on these cars and on the Mustang Mach-E.

What we see

What are the common problems on a Ford?

The common problems on a Ford with a public record come from Ford bulletins and GCC recalls. The bulletins cover the 10-speed automatic, the 3.5 litre EcoBoost and the 5.0 litre V8, while the UAE, Saudi and Qatari ministries announced the recalls. Each item below names the models and the step our workshop takes next.

  • Harsh 10R80 shifts: on an F-150 or Expedition, Ford traces harsh or delayed shifts to a calibration that does not adapt to break-in. We read the codes and run Ford's adaptive learning drive cycle, and a valve body overhaul goes to a Ford dealer.
  • Cold-start rattle on the 3.5 litre EcoBoost: in an F-150 or Expedition, a 2 to 5 second rattle comes from a worn cam timing unit. We confirm the noise and refer the car to a Ford dealer for new cam timing units and the engine calibration update.
  • Oil use on the 5.0 litre V8: an F-150 can burn more than 1 litre every 4,800 km with no visible leak. Ford traces it to high intake vacuum when fuel cuts off on deceleration. We measure the oil use, change the oil and filter, and refer the car to a Ford dealer for the engine software update.
  • Expedition front brake line: Saudi Arabia recalled 3,793 Expedition and Lincoln Navigator cars of the 2022 to 2024 models in 2025. Qatar recalled the same Expedition models, as the line can rub on the air cleaner outlet tube and leak fluid. We inspect the line and pass an open recall to a Ford dealer.
  • Explorer rear axle bolt: a 2022 UAE recall covers 2020 to 2022 Explorer cars, as the rear axle mounting bolt can fracture under acceleration. We check the mounting and refer a car with the recall open to a Ford dealer.
  • Territory steering column: the UAE recalled 2023 Territory cars, as an incorrectly welded joint can let the steering column bracket detach from the cross-car beam. Saudi Arabia recalled 665 of the same cars in 2023. We test the column for play and send an open recall to a Ford dealer.

Models we cover at our Ford workshop in Dubai

We work on the Ford range sold in the UAE, with the programme code where a Ford source gives one:

  • F-150 (P702)
  • F-150 Raptor (P702)
  • Bronco (U725)
  • Bronco Raptor
  • Explorer (manual coded U625)
  • Explorer ST
  • Ranger (manual coded P703)
  • Ranger Raptor
  • Expedition
  • Everest
  • Territory
  • Taurus

The Ranger Raptor runs a 3.0 litre twin-turbo EcoBoost V6 of 292 kW with a 10-speed automatic. In GCC form, the 2020 Taurus brought an 8-speed automatic worked by a rotary shifter. The 2025 Everest pairs a 2.3 litre EcoBoost with a 10-speed automatic.

The Mustang and Mustang Mach-E are covered on our separate Mustang page.

In Dubai conditions

When is a Ford service in Dubai due?

A Ford service in Dubai follows its manual; Ford Middle East's oil change guidance gives 8,000 km or 6 months, the earlier of the two. Towing, idling, dusty roads and off-road driving bring the change forward. Ford Middle East also inspects a new Ford at 3,000 km or 2 months.

The 2023 Explorer carries the Intelligent Oil-Life Monitor, and its Qatar Arabic manual caps the gap between oil changes at 16,000 km. For Middle East cars, that manual sets 8,000 km on oil to Ford's specification and 4,800 km on any other oil. The 2023 Bronco's UAE Arabic manual gives 4,800 km as the normal oil change interval for Middle East cars.

On the 2023 Explorer, the same manual renews the cabin filter every 32,000 km and the engine air filter every 48,000 km. Its spark plugs are due every 160,000 km. We work to the interval the manual of each model sets for the Middle East and reset the oil-life monitor after every oil change.

How Ford maintenance in Dubai works at Royal Prince Auto Care

Ford work in our bays follows 5 steps, ending with a drive on the road.

Note the warnings and read the codes

We note each warning lamp and message, read the oil-life figure and pull the codes stored in the control modules.

Inspect the underbody on the lift

With the car raised, the axle mounts, brake lines, driveshaft and gearbox seals are checked for wear, rubbing or leaks.

Test the circuit or part behind each code

Our technicians test the circuit or component behind each code and confirm which part has failed.

Replace the failed part and do the due items

A new part goes in where the old one failed, alongside the schedule work due at the odometer reading.

Road-test and read the codes again

A road drive comes first, then a fresh code read and a top-up of each fluid to its mark.

To book a Ford in, phone or WhatsApp us with the model, the engine and the distance on the odometer.

Why Royal Prince

Why choose Royal Prince Auto Care for Ford service in Dubai

What sets our Ford work apart:

GCC recall lists checked

Each Ford's model and build date are matched against the recall lists of the UAE, Saudi and Qatari ministries. An open recall goes to a Ford dealer, and we carry out the rest of the job.

Coolant and transfer fluid by WSS number

We fill the coolant and the transfer case fluid to the WSS specification Ford prints for the car. On a 2023 Explorer, those are WSS-M97B57-A2 coolant and WSS-M2C938-A transfer case fluid.

Cooling checked for desert heat

Ford tests its trucks and SUVs in Dubai dunes above 60 °C. Sand driving there makes the engine and gearbox work harder and run hotter. Each service we carry out on a Ford includes a cooling system pressure test, and a hose, cap or fan that fails it is renewed.

Gearbox relearn after a battery change

A 2023 Explorer with an automatic gearbox relearns its adaptive shift strategy after the battery is disconnected or replaced. We complete that relearn as part of each battery job on this Explorer.

Parts looked up by VIN

Every part is looked up against the car's VIN, so it fits the engine and gearbox on the lift. The 2025 Ranger alone comes with a 6-speed manual, a 6-speed automatic or a 10-speed automatic.

Dealer jobs passed on

A Ford dealer takes the jobs that need Ford's own tools: driver-assistance camera and radar set-up, engine and gearbox rebuilds, and special-tool work. Everything else on the car, from servicing to repairs, stays with us.

FAQs

Ford questions, answered

How is the cost of a Ford service in Dubai worked out?

The price of a Ford service in Dubai rests on 3 factors. Those are the car's engine and gearbox, the schedule items due at its distance, and the oil and parts those items use. Repairs found on the lift come on top of the service.

Can a Ford garage in Dubai reset the battery sensor on an Explorer?

Yes. A 2023 Explorer needs its battery sensor reset once a new battery goes in. Ford's steps include flashing the high beams and pressing and releasing the brake pedal 3 times; the battery warning lamp then flashes 3 times. We carry out the reset on every Explorer battery we fit.

Do you service the F-150 PowerBoost hybrid?

Yes. The P702 F-150 PowerBoost pairs the 3.5 litre twin-turbo V6 with a 33 kW motor and a lithium-ion battery, through the 10R80 MHT gearbox. We service its engine, brakes, suspension and 12 V battery, and a Ford dealer handles the high-voltage system.

Which oil does a Ford Bronco take?

The 2023 Bronco's UAE Arabic manual lists SAE 5W-30 to WSS-M2C961-A1 for both the 2.3 and 2.7 litre EcoBoost. The 2.3 litre holds 5.7 litres with the filter. We refill those 2 engines to that grade and specification.

Do you work on the Ford Expedition?

Yes. The 2026 Expedition runs a 3.5 litre EcoBoost twin-turbo V6 of 400 hp, or 440 hp in High Output form, with a 10-speed automatic. Ford gave the all-new Expedition a unique cooling system up front. We service its engine, gearbox, brakes and cooling system.
